30 years old, wow. I love the machine, my favourite 8-bit home micro by far. C64 also revolutionised video game music thanks to the SID chip.
Yes I still play on C64, sadly not an original machine but through my Xbox. I have so many favourite games like Turrican, Airborne Ranger, Delta, Paradroid, LCP, Dropzone, Armalyte, Katakis, The Last Ninja, Stunt Car Racer, Wizball, Thrust, Salamander, Buggy Boy, Retrograde, Project Firestart, NARC, Enforcer, Samurai Warrior, etc etc. I've actually been playing through Batman the Movie recently, fun game!

I miss the days of the C64, Speccy and Amstrad CPC and the 16 Bit Amiga and Atari. Computers seem less exciting nowadays, I think we need something new to come along to give a new alternative to PCs and Macs.

Still own mine. It's in the loft but it still works and I have a massive case filled with games.

oh yeah, i remember arguments about which was best
Commodore 64 or Spectrum ZZap64 or Crash The crazyness of Jeff Minter and his games Waiting 7 or 8 minutes for games to load in from magnetic tape, and adjusting the heads on the tape player, until the game loaded ok For games i played loads I remember: Bruce Lee, Mercenary, Little Computer People, Pitstop 2, Monty on the Run, Paradroid The music of the C64 was way ahead of it's time I grew fond of those C64 ditties, from people like Rob Hubbard, Martin Galway, Tim Follin Fans of C64 music can find all of it here: http://www.hvsc.de/ and modern day remixes of C64 tunes http://remix.kwed.org/ |

Last night I had a bit of an 8 bit geek out. Got onto You Tube and ended up listening to the Glider Rider music ( CPC seems to be the best version ) and then checked out Prehistorik 2 on the CPC Plus (possibly the best looking game on the old CPCs - shame about the slowdown).

loved me C64 miss them days, parents bought me one but said catalog had none in stock, teachers strike at school, came home and looked thru living room window to find dad playing on it (felt like I HAD WON THE LOTTERY)
all mates used to pile in mine to play summer & winters games, reseting it to enter pokes, loved raid over moscow, still got a zapp 64 in loft. I hate zapp 64 after they said you'd be to get amiga emulator/plug in for your c64 and play amiga games (april fool) and I fell for it, for a whole month I was saving until next zapp 64 & felt like I'd lost the lottery when read april fool grrrrrrr |

Speccy was crap lol, the C64 ruled the 8bit roost followed closely by the CPC. I Just like everything from the 80's, they were the best days for everything basically. |

I think I am down to three 64's now though I may have another in the Attic. As people upgraded their computers and threw out the ancient ones I collected them up. I have BBC's,Acorns,Dragon 32's,Amstrad CPC's,Speccys,Amiga's,Atari ST's etc coming out of my ears. |
