I wouldn't rank Emeli Sande along with Kate Bush, or with Bjork either.

I bought her first single To Be Free years ago, don't recall hearing anything of her afterwards. It had what I presume was a 'trip-hop' beat and vocally and lyrically she was trying a bit too obviously to do a Bjork ("once in a house on a hill, a boy got angry...")

I first heard of her when she did 'Gollum Song'... Such a haunting song.

I've loved her for years! Great artist, she has a lovely voice. Sort of like Bjork in tone but with less of the screeching and wailling, lol.

"Love in the Time of Science" is one of my all time favourite albums.

I don't think they're 'ranking' Emeli with Bjork, or Kate Bush, simply stating that Emiliana has a bit of similarity to all three artists in certain ways.

I'm a big fan. I wouldn't really compare her to Bjork. The only similarity is they both from Iceland. I would put her more in the category of trip hop groups like Sneaker Pimps or Morcheeba. Her music is more electronic than Kate Bush who is more piano based.
