Considering the average broadband speed in the UK is around 7Mb I'd say you're doing very well, especially in a hotel.

Some people are neve satisfied,it seems. Why on earth wouldn't 15Mbps be sufficient?

It hasn't affected my Plusnet connection at all, from where I am near Blackpool. I have checked it a few times over the last few days using speedtest.net to "Namesco" in London.

Not great?.

What do you need such high speeds for considering that is more than enough for even HD streaming.

Getting about 59 Mbs using home FTTC connection so pretty close to their estimated value when it was installed (63 Mbs). Installed after the games started so would be happy if it is being slowed down since it's already very fast

The bit of a slowdown I was having was nothing to do with my broadband, I found out last night, which is why Netflix was working fine.

Found it was a problem with the network from this computer to the router and only realised when I used the laptop and everything was working fine.

Still not sure what the problem was, i changed all the Ethernet cables and still have the problem, missed out the switch just in case that was the problem. Still the same problem. i tested the homeplugs downstairs direct to the laptop, worked fine.

What I have done now is moved the home plug for this computer to another socket on the other side of the room and it works, but it means I have to use a longer cable.

Very strange.

Because downloading a complete DVD takes 35 minutes instead of 8 minutes? http://www.speedtest.net/result/2099089230.png

Or because in a family 3 or more of you can't reliably play Youtube HD videos at the same time? Or even one HD video, if someone else happens to be downloading stuff.

I'm sure others can think of more good reasons too. It's nice when you need it - even if the need is only occasional. The sooner everyone can have it, the better - and on the original post, my fibre speed is just the same as before the Olympics.
