I watched the Sting v Flair Clash of the Champions 45 minute match this afternoon.. they do so little, but tell so much more of a story than any current WWE match .

If you enjoyed that match I would highly recommend the Ric Flair vs Ricky Steamboat match from 1989 Chi Town rumble.

Plus the 2/3 falls match at the April 2nd Clash of the Champions plus the rematch from Wrestle War 1989.

All 3 are phenominal matches.

It's something that WWE have never done before so I think it's worth a try.

Think of it as a wrestling themed new year's party.

They should just do a night of old school matches.

I enjoyed the old school Raw that they had last year. It would be nice for them to do it again (not like the terrible Smackdown version a few months ago).

What WWE should do is give the wrestlers a decent break with their families over Christmas. It's what they deserve at the end of a long year. They could easily have a 12 day break between the Smackdown taping on Dec 18th and Raw on New Year's Eve.

Well that wasent really what I meant. Do a night of old school matches from the past but not the ones that have been shown a million times.

The wrestlers could take a break then if they just aired it with pre taped interviews.

That would probably be more entertaining than a live episode of Raw.

I'd imagine they'd do a Best Of 2012 highlights show this year. Surely they can't have a proper live show on New Years Eve?!

Back in 2007, Monday fell on New Year's Eve, Raw was taped on the Sunday and we got Raw before America on New Year's Eve at 23:00. I remember because Triple H vs Ric Flair was the main event, which was on at like half past midnight, 30 minutes into 2008 for UK!

I already posted they are taping New Year's Eve Raw episode on the Saturday. Not sure if it's been missed.

Nice idea, but that week is historically a good business week for them. The live events they run between the 26th and 30th often attract larger than average crowds. Always a very strong week cinema ticket sales too in the states.

I guess it's because of schools and colleges being closed, and many people taking days off work. Like the cinema, WWE is a good family outing if in town.

I have just read that Jericho's last appearance on Raw for the time being will be on August 14th. As Fozzy has a new album out and he will be touring.

Also Michelle McCool and the Undertaker are expecting a baby.

Full Story here.

The Item about Jericho here.

Twitter is a good starting place. Another good place would be 606v2.

Oh yeah I remember that, I ended up watching the replay on the Thursday instead but the Flair/HHH match ended up being pretty awesome.

Jericho's overratted and no way did he deserve those World titles because it was the biggest failure in 2001.

Was that the one where Flair beat Triple H by countout or dq because of McMahon wanting to screw the game but also to keep Flair's career alive.

That surely cant be over 5 years old.
