Good find!

Will these work ok with Sky Sports? I currently have the i-can HD box with Sky Sports but I'm finding I miss the PVR functions and it would also be nice to have PictureBox again. However, receiving Sky Sports is my main priority so if they can't then it's a no.

Anyone know how these two perform?

Are they fairly reliable and are they easy to use?

There are reviews on the links dating back to 2009 from Argos customers.

Slight aside - but despite Argos having no TUTV products available in their current catalogue the I-Can box (for sport) appears to be available online through other retailers - Amazon, Play, Maplin, Tesco.com. .

Going to pick one up for the parents so they have some HD channels.

They won't be disappointed. I've had the box for about a year with no problems at all. The HD picture is outstanding considering the price of the box. Just be sure to download the latest software to a usb memory stick from the I-can.tv website. I've read the box is very buggy without it (I can't say because I updated it as soon as I set it up). Also you cannot access the TUTV sports channels without the latest software version I believe.

Thanks just picked one up from Maplins. Looks a great piece of kit. Wish I'd picked one up for myself rather than the T215 box!

Well I've gone for the Bush 320GB DTR, due to be delivered tomorrow. According to TUTV it is compatible for Sky Sports. I'm guessing it will need updating to the current software though, as duffman25 kindly pointed out.

Well not a good story from me unfortunately. I returned the Bush box to Argos Outlet today. It was running software version 0.56 with the current version being 7.09. Despite Top Up TV telling me the box is compatible with Sky Sports, it is not, at least on the 0.56 software version. The software version is too old to update as anything before version 5 cannot be updated. TUTV failed to tell me this when I originally enquired. Also, whilst viewing Freeview the picture kept freezing and skipping frames. I'm guessing that would have been fixed if I could only get the box to update.

I have also given my notice to TUTV as I am not happy with the lack of new hardware and no new PVR being available. I have received an offer from Sky for 12 months half price and £50 credit to my bill. Looks like I'll be going back to Sky unfortunately. It's a real shame as I like the plug and play aspect of TUTV as well as being able to subscribe to only the channels you want to watch. If they bring out some decent new kit, I might be tempted to return in the future.

That doesn't sound very good and if this what's avaiable for possible new subscribers people will not be happy or think much of the service.

Anyone else got a "new" box and does it work or have a suitable software type.

shame about that then i wanted to get one and that really is very old software, i just don't see why top up TV don't try to do a deal with bush or another company to offer a cheap pvr for its service..

Sound like the last of the dregs being extracted from dimly lit cellars. How long before unrepairable boxes come on the market for spares?
