Is there a more classier alternative to 'bum cheeks'?

Better descriptive wording please!

IMo, you need a good figure and shorts need to be slightly lose otherwise makes you look cheap

To counter balance this, I would say beauty is the eye of the beholder.

Though, in fairness, we know this article of clothing is appealing to a certain type of figure and overall appearance.

What I'm saying though is that you're being critical of somebody else of which suggest that they shouldn't go anywhere near hotpants.

Personally, I wouldn't want anybody deprived - life's too short.

They may well have a lot to say but they're still too big to be wearing hotpants.

I was working as an assistant at summer school last month where the students were 11-13. The shorts they were wearing were ridiculously short! They had no tights on and their bum cheeks really were in full view. Bearing in mind that this was in Donegal, they must have been freezing.
One of the teachers had a word with some of them and told them they couldn't come to the college with so much flesh on show.
Now I've no problem with girls with a good figure wearing them (I'm not brave enough without tights) but on 12 year olds?!

Society overall need to take responsibility and that includes the people allowing these garments to be manufactured for such young age - shorts are shorts at the end of the day, but there are boundaries, and decency.

They were asked if their parents knew they were wearing them and they said they bought them for them!

In a lot of ways, I'm not surprised by this attitude.

We live in different times to previous decades where there's a lot more tolerance, but even so, there should be standards - especially at school - stricter guidelines needed and parents should know better!

Do you also live in Manchester?! I applaud some people's bravery because unless I wanted to clear the town, you'd never see me in a pair. The last time I wore hotpants was in 1996, when I was 19 and I could justify it. Heck, I don't even wear shorts.

Unless they are tweed shorts (and that is pushing it), leggings look awful under shorts.

I saw a girl in town the other day who wasn't wearing knicker shorts, she was wearing knickers. White lacy knickers. She had at least the decency to wear white non-lacy knickers underneath, but still. She was skinny as a rake but I don't think anyone should really wear knickers as an equivalent to shorts or trousers. It was just a bit odd.

Also haha at "size 10 only? How narrow. Size 12 to 14 could also look beautiful." But size 16s can go f*ck 'emselves, what a broad view.

In my town it only seems to be 13/14 year olds that wear them.

I saw one girl, very tall buy looked about 13 and her hotpants must have been home made. They looked more like hot-thongs.
What made it worse for me is that I got the impression she was with her parents and family.

Some of them do look nice, but as I says, it's really only 13-14 year olds that wear them here and many are shorter than short.

I shall give my honest opinion if a picture is forthcoming.

I suspect most aren't specifically made for 12/13/14 year olds, but if a 12/13/14 year old is a size 6 or 8, they are going to fit them.

The only way to stop it from happening would be for manufacturers to stop making them in smaller sizes, but that would probably provoke a backlash from annoyed adult women who are smaller sizes.

Have to agree with this. I see far more inappropriatey attired men in the summer months than women.
