Paris YSL

It was the perfume an ex boyfriend used to buy me because he knew it was my favourite.

I have french ancestry on my grandma's side so I feel a connection with it. (Sounds a bit soppy but there you are).

I went off perfume during my first pregnancy 7 years ago. I liked Estee Lauder's Pleasures but during pregnancy it just smelt harsh and cheap so I didn't bother with perfume at all (apart from the odd gift or Clinique freebie).

Just this week a new woman started working with me and she smelled amazing; it was Lush's Gorilla Karma. It's a blend of patchouli and citrus. Took me back to my teenage years wearing patchouli oil bought for a pound from wee hippy shops. I ordered my own bottle which arrived today - can't stop smelling my wrist!!

It's awakened my love of perfume again. Next I'm looking for a nice cherry smelling scent if anyone can recommend one.

Armani Code - 'signature scent'!
Daisy and Lola by Marc Jacobs - I really love all of MJ's fragrances, so pretty.
Vera Wang Princess Collection - I think my favourite would be Rock Princess, it's the fruitiest (oddly).
Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture - so gorgeous but the only nice JC scent?

I have a love/hate relationship with Lady Million by Paco Rabanne, I get the most compliments when I wear it but sometimes I wonder if it is too strong or a bit cheap smelling? I think I'm just being irrational though because it's not cheap and I only wear one spray.

I was once told by a designer friend of mine that you should have a signature scent. If someone then walked down the high street and smelt that perfume, they would think of you. It would be associated with you.

So - thats what i do.
My signaure scent is Eternity by Calvin Klein and I've been wearing for 20 years.

However I love perfume so much that I have loads of others. Favourite 'runners-up' are:

CH by Carolina Herrera
Forbidden Euphoria by Calvin Klein
and
Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf

Used to really love Guerlain Mitsouko until they completely changed it so that it lost it's wonderful scent completely.

Having looked around for a couple of years for a replacement, I have now found Guerlain again but L'heur Bleu which is not as nice as the original Mitsouko but rather unusual and I am slowly loving it.

It was a favourite of mine too, I have now discovered Serge Lutens, I like them all but Ambre Sultan is really, really nice.http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/S...ltan-2760.html

I can't wear any Angel perfumes either despite liking them.

So my firm favourites are:

The One D&G
All the Prada perfumes including 'Candy' - I haven't bought that yet.

Flower bomb V&R

Gucci by Gucci
Flora by Gucci

Essence Narciso Rodriguez

I used to love a spray of 'amber' by L'Occitane but they've discontinued that a while ago. It was lovely after a bath.

My long time favorite one is Coco Chanel, I also like Chanel Allure Sensuelle and Chanel Allure plus Chanel Chance. I also like Gucci II, Carolina Herrera, and Jean Paul Gaultier to name a few. Hmmm, I also like my partners aftershave, Roadster by Cartier and his other few he wears.

Last week at work my boss said "you are wearing.... Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle".

I said "No, I'm not, I'm wearing Lidl's Suddenly Madame Glamour, £3.99 if-you-please,"

He refused to believe me at first. But then said "that's my wife's Christmas sorted then!".

For going out it is John Paul Gaultier - 'Classique' or Dior - 'Dolce Vita'

Daytime I like Issey Miyake or Armani Her's.
