In a change to previous years, the "red carpet event" and launch shows are being recorded on separate days.

The red carpet media introduction of the celebs and dancers is on Tuesday 11th September whilst the actual launch show and celebrity/dancer pair up will be recorded on Wednesday 12th.

Tickets are now available to book for both:

Tickets for the launch show are being paired with the live shows this year so as in previous years, tickets for the launch show will "exclude" you being able to get tickets for the live shows. (That means its a bit of dilemma).

The red carpet event tickets will not exclude people from winning for other shows.

**Please note that should you be successful in the random draw for the Strictly Come Dancing Premiere Show you will be excluded from the random draw for the 2012 series. Details of the random draw for the 2012 series will be released shortly.

You can apply for as many dates as you wish but if you are successful in the random draw you will only receive tickets for one date including the Strictly Come Dancing Premiere Show and this date is non transferable.

When will that be shown on tv? Wasn't last years launch show at the beginning of September before an early October start?

Last years was recorded on Wed 7th Sept, shown on Sat 10th with the first live shows on Fri 30th/Sat 1st October

This years is Tues 11th, Wed 12th, shown on Sat 15th. Its the same this year except a week later (as Ive had it unofficially confirmed that the first live shows are the first weekend in October).. The same 3 week initial training phase leads to Fri 5th/Sat 6th Oct

The final then is a week later than last year.

As far as I know Buddy the launch will be on TV on 15th Sept with the first live shows on Fri 5th and Sat 6th Oct.

Three weeks training with partners is the same amount of time as last season, the live shows a week later as the final will be on December 22nd

Does this mean what I think? That everyone can only have one set of tickets? Might give more people the chance to go!

Last year you could apply and be successful for the launch show and also then possibly get a ticket to one of the live shows. This year each name/household will only have a chance at being successful once.

its still that one chance in a million though isnt it I am honestly conidering not applying because I think what is the point? I apply every year and am never ever successful, it just disheartens me

I was confused, but it seems you can apply for the Red Carpet Event and not be excluded from the ticket draw for the series, but if you apply for the studio launch show, then you will be.

Yes that is correct.
But remember the red carpet event is purely the outside bit.

Has anyone applied for launch show tickets?..... I really hope we get a spoiler of who has been paired with whom. I am RUBBISH at waiting for things to be televised and really really really would want to know on the night of the launch!

You never know, this could be your lucky year. I never apply for the main shows. I work often on Saturday's, particularly on the run up to Xmas and living in Glasgow I couldn't really take the chance on travelling down and then not getting in.

Hopefully someone will be at the launch and give us the pairings though.
