Think the next xbox will be £300 at launch can't see it being cheaper than that.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/di...go-devkit-leak
digitalfoundry have a source claiming the dev kit that was put on sale for $10,000 claiming to be that of durango (code name for the next Xbox ). Is actually real, it was first believed to be a fake. Now if digitalfoundrys source is to believed, Durango will one heck of machine. Having an Intel 8 core CPU and a GPU from Nvidia and 4-6GB of ram. Contradicting previous rumours AMD had snapped all next gen CPU/GPU deals minus Nintendo's CPU. Now for those wondering why alpha kits would be used now, well the alpha kits for x360 shown here http://pictures.xbox-scene.com/4/xbo...non4macned.jpg where used for while even after the 360 was announced. |

Not sure if there's much to be read into it, but Microsoft have recently posted a lot of new job postings related to hardware.
Jobs for people whose job is to come up with financial information in relating to sourcing materials and production etc as well as DFT/DFM engineers who make sure that the end product is good for testing and good for manufacturing. Normally they post jobs and just say it is for the IEB branch, which could mean that it might be for Surface, but these jobs specifically mention the Xbox, and normally it will say Xbox 360, but these just say 'the Xbox console'... Now the 360 doesn't need those kinds of employees. Only something big would need more manpower. And if they're seeking people to help with certification and the manufacturing process now, we can't be too far from a new console. Even if it is a new 360 SKU. |

Now considering MS would not release a console, in first of half a year, I would say it looking more and more likely we are going to see durango in 2013 fall. |

Sounds good, but 8 times as powerful is not really that amazing considering the age of the original xbox 360, Most console generation leaps are about a factor of 10, I was hoping the xbox 720 would be a factor of 10-15 times as powerful. I guess we are in the process of diminishing returns with moores law.

I think could see an announcement in the next few months, as we know MS are preferring to show on there own events, Surface, even the Xbox 360 was shown at on MTV. I even would say VGA is possibility. I just hope if they do announce in the coming months, come E3 they are heavily focused on the gaming aspect.

Don't forget though, it isn't just about the specs.
It might be 8x as 'powerful', but could still produce 20x 'better' graphics by way of how it all works and utilises the power available. I hope they don't show it too early, I'll get bored otherwise. I mean look at the Wii U, they announced that like what, was it a year in advance of the final reveal? |

Also the new Xbox operating system, if it has cable/ Freeview/Freesat capability built in is going to be performing a lot more background tasks than previous console generations and that is going to reduce the graphical change still further. |

8x more powerful........well forget the RRoD when the 720 pops it will be like a small tactical nuke going off. lol
I can't wait for the new xbox just to see how many end up RRoD and bursting into flames and watch as M$ frantically try to downplay the problem like they did with the 360.

I expect MS have learned a lot from the 360 and the reliability of the 720 will be much better. Also the is no way in hell it will be called 720, that would make no sence. |

Since arm processors are mostly designed for mobile devices, their heat and power consumption is going to be lower than that of power based processors. Most of the rrod and ylod was caused by cheap solder in the manufacturing process and not the processors failing.

I can't see MS going with ARM chips as they just aren't fast enough, my guess is it will be a custom 22nm chip from Intel. |

An ARM processor for the 'always-on' part of the console, which could mean the TV side, the dashboard side. Then you 'switch' to the 'proper' processor for the gaming. |

Xbox durango dev kit was just suposedly sold on ebay for 20 grand. Now given ms did not take auction down (dev kits are property of ms) its unlikely to be real, however the images did look real, however the supposed intel cpu goes against previous rumours.

If MS took it down it would have confirmed its legitimacy.

It's lose lose situation, however it would be far more damage having the machine out their.
You've also got remember MS knows it's no secret development kits are out their, we've had job posting for game studios, job posting on their official website, I've personally spoken to developers working on next gen projects.. This is theft so the idea MS stealthy bought it, let it get sold does not sound right. Now at first, It looked legit all the leaks etc, so I don't know what to make of it really. If true though, I mean this guy is stupidest person in the world, If he got it then the chances are, he works/worked in the industry well that career is totally gone. |
