I'll have to do that at some stage myself. I Sky+'d it as well (I'd actually forgotten that I set the DVD recorder going for the 'prelim' show at 7:30 and just let it run on! Cue several anxious glances every now and again to ensure it was still recording once I realised!).

I'm in depression - or denial. it's quite hard to tell them apart at the moment.

They were talking about Heathrow on Radio 4.
Huge temporary terminal has been built for departing athletes - all London themed, with aisles named after London streets, real grass, and there are some kind of trees for olympians to hang papers on with their memories of the games.

Even their departure has been planned and thoroughly well-prepared.

We've done a stonking games

I heard that too.

I was thinking this morning if I'm this sad about it all being over, how must the athletes who underperformed feel. Poor Phillips was everywhere in the build up and just couldn't do it. Guess that's sport though. Some hit it on the day like Jessica Ennis and some don't. Michael Johnson talking about getting food poisoning one Olympics and then winning the next is a salutory lesson for us all to keep going.

Strange to know we held this year's Olympics & it'll never be forgotten. All the moments, the tears, the laughter, the boos, the cheering, the medal ceremonies, the appeals, the events, the athletes, women being allowed to take part for first time in some counteries, the medals, all our golds......it's been truly remarkable & will be what I remember most about this year. We might be sad it's all over now but nothing can take away the memories we've shared together. I'm so proud of our Team GB. They did sooooo well xxx

Me too, Crazy. I'm all puffed up with pride - for all our athletes, not just the ones who won, but those who took part and tried their best. And for the volunteers, who really made our Games stand out as being friendly and inclusive (and smiley!) - and the organisers, who thought of everything (even the departure for the athletes ...)

There's a 'welcome home' ceremony in Leeds tonight for the returning Leeds winners/Olympians. Starts at 5:45 at Millenium Square.

Sadly, I can't attend - but I shall be there in spirit.

David Cameron should make this weekend a bank holiday and have a massive party to celebrate Team GB's momentous achievements.

Any excuse for a party!

We can celebrate all the highs and lows, the volunteers, security, organisers and Wenlock!
