"Not to take anything away from the jaw dropping sportsmanship and flawless organisation of these Olympics but I think some of the incredible atmosphere of these games has been down to the British love of and skill at enjoying a party. We brought our festival spirit en mass to Stratford to turn it into a kind of Glastonbury of sport." Bernadette McNulty, Daily Telegraph

Sara is terminally shallow, isn't she? (Despite her pretentious attempts at political awareness.) I don't think she's a bad girl, but it would be hard to be close friends with her; she'd slip through your embrace like water.

One of her problems is that she can't recall what she wants to say, and thats a big problem.

I don't mind if Sara wins. She wouldn't be the first dim model to do so, and I prefer her to Sophie. I sort of want Adam to win, because I like the chap, but in truth he's done little but sit on his arse saying things like "what will be will be" for two months.

I'm afraid there's still a fair bit of cheating going on. Some of the athletics results were eyebrow-raising, to say the least. The cheats who got rumbled were from small-time nations--maybe the bigger nations are smarter at doping.

Afternoon everybody .

I don't really want any of the remaining housemates to win, it's not that I don't like them I just don't think any of them are "winners". If I was pushed I would say Luke S though.

I think BB managing to pull just under half a million viewers last night while the closing ceremony was on, is quite impressive. I think Ch5 were brave to have it on at all last night.

(I miss acker too) It would have been quite cool for fatboy slim to have DJ'ed the whole ceremony with bands in between

IIRC didn't a lot of the street children go missing some years ago, and it turned out they were being killed by the police as a way to make the city more attractive?

anything planned for Friday?

I didn't realise that either

Gorgeous picture

PS afternoon all
Good Afternoon minkski.

Drives me mad when she keeps saying "I don't know".

I do find her comical, though. The clothes hanger thing was hilarious. Was it even a zip fastener with a hole in it?

Hi DL.

I don't think it's because she doesn't know, i just think for some medical reason she can't recall what she wants to say.

She can talk for an hour about a subject but then can't recall anything she has said so in consequence she can't answer a question, and if you ask her one about it she goes berserk.

I never trust anyone who says they are being honest. No one is honest, in my opinion. We are all psychologically unable to see ourselves objectively. It's human nature to bend the truth to suit oneself.

As for being "brutally honest", is that much different from being unnecessarily rude? If we all told other people what we think of them, fights would break out every five minutes.

We do a great Commonwealth Games as well: Manchester was terrific. I remember Paula Radcliffe winning gold there to a packed arena. A couple of weeks later she won European gold in a virtually empty stadium somewhere. It might have been a more important medal, but I bet I know which she found the more memorable. Glad for her that she had that day, as she was unfit for London, which broke her heart. Poor girl, I think she's ravaged her body doing what she does.

No, none of them have earned the win. I'd be happiest if it went to Deana, despite not liking her, because she's had to work the hardest for it. Sara, Luke A, and Adam have coasted. Luke S tried to coast, but BB seems to have decided to pick on him.

You are right about there being a medical reason for her forgetting things and not being able to say what she wants.
It is called "intoxication"

It is hardly a teaser if it shows you an identifying tattoo and practically the whole flaming faces.

I think it's more serious than that.

Are the exams for it tough? I was amazed that Becky was studying for something or other in drama because it can be heavy going with all the Chaucer and Shakespeare and she is clearly thick as a plank.
