Dreadful, easily the worst episode of Family Guy ever.

How has it gone down Stateside? It seems to me that Fox prefer to make crap that makes them money, granted that started off appointment to view TV but now gone on far too long as in Family Guy, The Simpsons, House.

Ratings are down on last year but not drastically.

It was 56th in the Nielsen's last year, its' 70 this year

If people didn't like this episode, and that's fine. But let's not pretend it's Ricky Gervais' fault. His voice acting performance was fine. Just like every other bad episode, and every good episode, it'll always come down to the writers.

All I heard when Billy was talking was Ricky and his smug self-loving grin. I actually think he may have done alot of improvisation, it was beyond embarasssing, for both the writers and Ricky Gervais.

The only amusing moment was the 'Read the script' cutaway gag and when Joe sank to the bottom of the ocean in the background whilst Peter was trying to re-unite Billy with his wife, even though he was seemingly fine in the next scene.

Hopefully the series improves.

It just sounded like one of his 'comedy' routines. The same crap laughing at himself jokes which appeared in his Simpson's episode.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but according to the Sky Guide it looks like 2 new episodes next week

Thanks for the heads up. I don't use series link - it picks up all the eps through the week on my box, not just the S10 eps. I would probably have missed the second ep of the double bill otherwise.

It's OK when all the Gervais stuff is edited out.

Here's hoping tonight's episodes are an improvment on the rest of the season.

I really don't like Mort as a character. And it's not because I'm against the Jewish jokes, he's just not a great character. This bit made me laugh though:

Peter: How about you do a buy one, get one free deal?
Mort: A what?
Peter: Buy one, get one free.
Mort: It sounds like you're saying the first part in English, but the second part in a completely different language.

Or something to that effect

Perhaps you guys have watched too many episodes, because I think Family Guy is rather consistent, never great but always something to laugh at.

Did anyone else spot Barry from American Dad at the fat camp in episode 16?

The Wheel-Cher gag was most amusing, as was Joe and the sitting ovation comment.

Recorded it on V+ and didn't get both the episodes properly Saw most of them though and they weren't too bad

I liked the "SALE" montage ending with Peter saying "So has opening and closing the register helped?"

This drives me nuts with V+. For some reason, even though each episode is about 21 or 22 mins, BBC Three only allocates a 20 mins slot for the first episode and 25 mins for the second. I have set as a default added time of 2 mins before and 10 mins after for all recordings but this rarely kicks in with Family Guy - it always cuts out before the end of the first episode and then picks up about 30 seconds later for the next episode. If you're lucky, the recording of the second episode will catch the end of the first one, but not always
