Fatsia I didn't realise you were that kind of girl!

I don't know what to say really, I'm nearly 30 and to me the majority of the "nicknames" that you hear for gay men already seem hideously outdated. My dad said "poof" the other day and I cringed - it just made him sound like a d*ck and my dad's not usually a d*ck I'm more of a child of the 80/90s and grew up with the likes of Jim Davidson on the telly spouting his mouth off about "poofs" and "shirt lifters" - so it just shows how far the world has come on.

I'm not gay so I might be wrong, but terms such as "drops anchor in poo bay" - although absolutely minging - are more light hearted than some of the more personal words used to describe gay people...? I don't know, I might be wrong.

All those terms are stupid anyway, I mean, shirt lifter? What the hell's that about? Doesn't that mean I'm a shirt lifter? I'm confused

You certainly have a point. Batty boy, fudge packer, pillow biter etc. apply to straight people too. Usually the people using said terms aren't the brightest so it's no surprise they haven't realised that though.

Thought I would bump this up as I was having a browse at the Guardian features and saw this. Pretty much confirms he is gay.
thanks for that, good article, whilst not 100% confirmation, very close. I like his honesty

I think Flack and Harry are still a couple and Grimmers is a smoke screen. So Nick is out of closet or at the back of it waiting to come out?

Hopefully he'll set a precedent for other rising stars.
No but our thread starter and general charm merchant figured he could 'spot a gay like he could spot a black man'.

I just wondered why Socrates had failed to spot a gay black man of late and incidentally went to pieces when gay sex got mentioned but didn't mind extolling the virtues of violence by claiming Grimshaw had a 'punchable face'.

Well good riddance to bad rubbish I say. I am sure Nick G will lose no sleep over such fluff.

People on DS really, seriously need to grow up about sexuality. Check your diaries folks, it's 2012 now. It really is.

For those that can't be bothered to read the whole article....

Perhaps people concentrate on his famous friends because so little is known about Grimshaw himself. For someone who's never off the TV and radio, he cuts a rather enigmatic figure, rarely giving interviews: "I don't guard my privacy, but I don't really see the point in doing press if there's nothing to talk about. You don't want to be in the paper for the sake of it." His personal life seems slightly mysterious, largely because it appears to be nonexistent. One page of a fan website is given to trying to decipher whether or not he's gay – "the truth is that no one really knows because he's not directly answered that question," it puzzles, before adding hastily, "we all love 'Grimmy' either way!" – today, at least, he seems happy to acknowledge that he is. But he's never really had a relationship, he says. "I've just not met anyone that I thought oh, I really like you that much. I work so much, when I do go out, I'd rather go out with my friends. I rather do that than, like, go out on the prowl. I literally can't think of anything worse."

It just seems a bit of a waste, I say, given that he's young and handsome and famous. "It does, doesn't it?" He thinks for a minute, before suggesting he'd "really like to go out with Frank Ocean", the R&B singer who outed himself as bisexual earlier this year. He thinks again. "I think he might be whiny, though. Like, why have you not called me? He might be a bit wet. I think I'm just forcing that Frank thing." He laughs. "You see, as soon as I decide, I talk myself out of it."

Half of me agrees with this and the other half not sure. Harry and Grimmers seem to be photographed together everywhere and IMO if they were a bona fida couple management would be doing everything in their power to keep them out of the papers. He apparently is the heart throb of the group and therefore can't be gay. Funniy enough going by twitter I think most of their fans would love him to be gay

Niall was stuck in traffic and missed it

Meanwhile, while Tomlinson and Calder were enjoying themselves, Harry Styles reportedly went shopping with his pal Nick Grimshaw, Liam hung out with Danielle, Zayn spent time with Perrie Edwards, while Niall Horan was stuck in traffic and tweeting us all about it!

The stick Caroline had if he had a gf I doubt he would take her along. He could do better than Grims.

Probably because they would be happy that a girl cant have him if that makes sense.

It's funny cause it's true.

Let us not forget that Grimshaw has a Breakfast Show to promote, which would probably benefit from having 1D aged fans as listeners.
