There was a story back a year or two ago in the Daily Mail about this soap actress who went to LA but ended up as a part-time waitress between auditions or some sort. There were pictures of her cleaning windows I think..

DM were taking the mick but there was a thread here where people gave positive comments about her for at least working.

I can't find neither the article nor the thread. I just want to recall who she is.

The world's full of actors and actresses working as shop assistants, waiters and cleaners between auditions. Only the Daily Wail would find it unusual enough to make nasty comments about.

Good for Adele for trying to make a go of it and for standing on her own 2 feet by working while she tried.

I looked up IMDb. It seems since that last article in 2010 she has released a couple of straight to DVD type films. Both of them are UK produced so I am assuming she did them before she left for LA.

Although her act of working is commendable, she'd probably have to be realistic. If she hasn't done anything over there for the past 2 years she should come back to UK. But if she's happy being a shop assistant, then that's her choice.

Surprises me she even made it in the UK as an actress, because she was truly dreadful.

If she's still in the US, she'd do herself a favour by taking some acting lessons.

Yes, I guess they believe their own PR. Working in a SOAP is very different from a Hollywood TV series or movies. So many of them never work again and disappear from the screen. Or end up on Big Brother or another rubbish reality show. I remember a TV Show on actors. Ken Barlow's brother in Corrie ended up hardly working after leaving the show, while the actor who plays Ken is very rich indeed as he stuck with the soap and kept working.
