Nickelback frontman Chad Kroger and Avril Lavigne have "confirmed" that they're engaged after dating for six months. They became a couple after Chad began helping Avril write her fifth album.

This will be Avril's second marriage, she married Sum 41's Deryck Whibley. For Chad Kroger after long term relationships this will be his first marriage.

Nickelback, god they were a grim do.

They were like the latter day Kings of Leon, who are even worse.

Me neither! I knew she'd split from Brody Jenner but didn't know she was now with Chad. I don't know which is worse to me, the thought of them as a couple or the thought of the songs they've written together...
