Imagine Barbara Windsor doing that for you. " Hey luv, this is Peggy Mitchell here. XXXXX isn't able to take your call at the moment, leave a message after the beep. Then GET OFF THE LINE AND OUTA MY PUB!!" I think that only someone without a sense of humour wouldn't see the jolly in that!
Makes me think of this:

Today I met Miriam Margolyes in Edinburgh . She is doing a show at the Fringe . Although I didn't go to her show , I took my daughter to another show at the same venue . My daughter recognised her from Harry Potter , and although I had always thought her to be rather scary and formidable looking , she was lovely and a joy to chat with . Really nice woman.

Only once.
I talked to a guy from supertramp for about 2 minites once. Round about 1974...I shared a flat with some mates and we got to know 2 girls who lived upstairs that worked for A&M records. They invited us to a launch party for the bands new album 'Crime of the century'. The band mingled for a while and I just mumbled something about how I love guitar music..lol. They all seemed very sensible and sober.

Chad Szeliga, John Deservio, Nick Catanese, Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society) - the nicest, most down to earth guys ever.

Also, it surprises many, but Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) was really cool just like Chris Broderick

When Megadeth played Wolverhampton years ago, my dentist had to give Dave Mustaine some treatment for a toothache! And he said that Dave was a really nice guy too

I always find with 'popular' celebrities it's not them themselves that are the problem but their security. I was stood next to Jessie J with a huge crowd around, she was trying to talk to us but her security practically pushed her into the awaiting vehicle. She did manage to sign a few things off a few girls and shout stuff to us all bless her. If it wasn't for her security I'm sure she'd of stood and talked to us all. Similarly with James Corden at his book signing. A lovely guy who was genuinely nice, kept asking if I was alright, and other random questions but the security were telling him he couldn't have photos and that he needed to stop talking for as long.

Nicest Celebrity I've met is Samantha Janus/Womack. I've met her 11 times now and every time she's been lovely, very warm and bubbly towards you (hugs and kisses constantly). She would happily natter to you for ages, and has done quite a few of the times I've met her. Even when she's in a rush she'll have a quick chat, pose for photos and sign anything. She's had me in stitches numerous times. Pleasant celeb to meet and when she's chatting to you you'd never think she was a celebrity.

I used to go autograph hunting in the late 80's to 2000. I met Steve McFadden, Emlyn Hughes and Tony Pitts (Archie in Emmerdale) at a charity football match and they were really nice especially Tony who gave me his medal from it. Kevin Keegan is lovely and he gave me a cuddle, Peter Beardsley,Ian Rush and Rik Mayall were also nice. We didn't like Adam Woodyatt as he was impatient.

Mariella frostup has a bad reputation in TV. Apparently is very difficult veering towards downright nasty.

I know people who have worked in security, and it's usually the case that the celeb will look like they want to stay but the security will bundle them away and look like the bad guys. The celeb is the one in control.

Really? I've only ever worked with her on radio, and I found her to be exceptionally nice...

Really? That is nice to hear. However a good friend of mine in TV production and who I trust (and has no axe to grind) does say that MF has a reputation for being difficult.

But I was talking about the people who want an autograph in the first place. It's a weird mentality.

Towie

Yesterday we visited Brentwood in (my daughter's) hope of meeting TOWIE people, lol. Went into Harry's World and met Harry Derbridge who was incredibly friendly, really lovely and happily posed for photos, what a sweetheart No sign of other TOWIE people in their shops though

Then happened to see Alex Reid coming out of MacDonalds, he also posed for a photo but seemed in a real rush and not especially friendly, but then suppose he didn't want his lunch to get cold, lol

It's about wanting the handwriting of someone that's famous. It's fair enough if you wouldn't want one, but others would though.

It's no more odd than those who want to cover their limbs or bodies with tattoos that can never be removed totally. To each his or her own.

I'm not saying they are the two people I most wanted to meet in the world either, but we just happened to be in the same place

Jason Donovan was exceptionally rude when I met him at a radio station last year. I was there as part of my Uni course and he came in for an interview- not only did his press agent forward a ridiculously long list to our production team regarding questions they weren't allowed to ask, he also rang ahead to cancel a meet and greet with some of his "superfans" (most of whom had been waiting at the station for a very long time)

Came into the studio in giant sunglasses and a hat. Didn't smile or talk to anyone until he went on air when, surprise surprise, he became Mr Personality.
