Can someone run through how you take a penalty and on the other side how you work the keeper (on PS3)
Good question. Podolski took a penalty against me yesterday and my keeper just stood still because I didn't know how to make him dive. The penalty was actually straight down the middle too and went in an approx 1mm gap between my keeper's head and the crossbar.

As far as I know the penalties are the same as on FIFA 12. Right stick to make the keeper dive.

To shoot, hold shoot and direct the "invisible target". (In practice mode you can turn the target on so you can get an idea of how it works)

As for people saying about spending money on it, I'd quite happily pay £100 for it. I only really play online and it's the only game that I consistently play all year, most days when I get home from work I have an hour before my mrs gets home so I nearly always stick it on for an hour then. That's at least an hour a day 5 days a week, spread over a year it works out as next to nothing. The last game I bought was Max Payne, whilst it was very good, I finished it pretty quickly and haven't got it out of the box since. FIFA represents much better value to me than that.

I like the pre game arena. Rather than just a random player to control and take a few shots, it's challenges that could improve your game.
For example I'm often frustrated with passes going to the wrong player, but the passing drill that came up before a game shows you how the slightest movement with the left stick and the slightest change in power can make the difference, and you can learn to use the right pass in the right situation.

As for the quesrtion of paying £40 every year it's definately worth it. I only played career mode, barely touched Ultimate Team, they are both fantastic modes really.

Then there's online play, I also only last week discovered Seasons head to head which I like the idea off and may axplore more in fifa 13. There's just so many game modes and ways to play you can't really say it's not worth the money.

Compare it to COD, I paid £40 for a game where I only play online, I don't touch the other modes, then if I wanted extra maps for a mode I've already paid £40 for, they would want another £40!? Nah I just stuck with the default maps.
