As usual. I fell in love with Gareth all over again.

Why can't he come to my village and start a choir? I'd join!

Some lovely voices tonight.....Natalie's husband looked so proud. Brought a bit of a tear to my eye,

Next week's postmen look very funny (I mean amusing, not odd). I was wondering what song they'd get. "Oh. I would walk 500 miles, and I would walk 500 more, to be the man who walked a thousand miles to put post in your door"?

Sure I've seen an ad with them singing "Postman Pat" for audition but that surely can't be their main song.

That was such a touching moment, it did seem like an intrusion in to such a private moment though.

I think that was just the tester, like this week it was "A Spoonful of Sugar".

I liked Eddie the surgeon and his refusal to let his feelings all hang out. He's right too; caring is good, but with a surgeon, what you really want is a guy who knows what he's doing.

Fair enough - I've been lucky enough to be on the good end of successful surgery and know a surgeon (and anaesthetist) needs to be utterly focussed during surgery but hope for their sake they can unwind post surgery.

My guesses for next week's song for the post office workers would be "Please Mr. Postman", "Love Letters Straight From My Heart", "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself A Letter" or "Return To Sender".

Gareth does it again, same formula, just tweaked a bit, a competition, 'sing while you work'.....another hit.

Liked the Doc in A+E....and Nat the speech therapist {gold dust for the Producers}...Loved the Lean on me song, but REM's Hurt, just a bit depressing for me.

Quoted in the Radio Times this week "If asked again.....I'd refuse".

IMO for them to have a chance Gareth should change his soloist. She has no colours in her voice & sounds flat apart from having a loud voice.

I think Gareth only got carried away with her back story and made an emotionally based decision as opposed to her voice technicality.

Why did Gareth need to choose a female soloist for esp that some of the men sing quite good too even better than Nathalie and if he prefers a female one I think there are 1 or 2 who def sound a hell lot better than Nathalie.

All that aside Gareth is fantastic as always.

(I like bow ties. Bow ties are cool, as the Doctor would say).

You know, I don't think he does get carried by sentiment. Not when he's working. I think he knows what he wants to achieve and will choose precisely the right person to deliver whatever that is. Okay, then the person has to perform to his requirements but I think he is probably only sentimental outside the performance.

I think he is great - and should be cloned on the NHS so every town can have their own Gareth Malone - but he's a bit of a one-trick pony. I don't mean that in a nasty sense - it's simply he is what he is: a superb community choir master who has an open, honest, articulate tv persona. Someone either on DS or another forum has said they find him patronising - I really never see that.

Still, he's not going to be adding dancing, for eg, to his tutoring repertoire any time soon - nor should he. But sooner or later the fickle British public (or the media) will turn and snarl and I hope that he senses the point of no return and takes a step back before that point is reached.

Postman Pat singing.

It's good to see what goes on behind the scenes at the post sorting office.

I enjoyed that... but was a bit stunned by how disaffected some of the staff appear.

They mentioned changes and that can be quite disconcerting.

I think they are blending quite well together. I do like the fact that (as I feel sometimes) whatever rubbish you're going through in general work it's all forgotten when you hit choir after work.

I can never understand that when something like that is happening you get such boring people passing by not even taking any notice of whats going on.

They could be in a hurry, but could spare a couple of minutes to see a "one off" event like that.
