Robocop- A film of multiple layers surprisingly. While I appreciated it's sleek look as a child (therefore buying the toys guns etc) as an adult I see it differently. I get a sense of sadness, excitement and when the music starts it's very moving. I won't be seeing the remake.

Dumb and Dumber- Just comedy perfection.

The Machinist- Murky and depressing what's not to like?

The Departed- Just a great film

The Big Lebowski- Relaxing

Misery- Glad I'm not him

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory- Encourages hunger and envy of those little pricks.

2 things surprise me about the films mentioned to far or not. Cannot believ that no on ehas mentioned AIRPLANE. You have to watch it at least half dozen times to actually see/hear all the jokes, as you are too busy laughing.

I watched this again recently for the first time in about 10 years and saw 2 jokes that I had not seen before. This fill has the most laughs of any film ever made.

Why oh Why do so many like the Home Alone films, very surprising

I wouldn't say it's surprising. The first two films are entertaining and perfect to kick back for 90 minutes and watch.

Off the top of my head, and reading all the messages so far in this thread may have influenced my decisions, but here goes:

i) Alien
ii) Aliens (there is no need to put a 2)
iii) The Usual Suspects
iv) Red Cliff
v) Akira

But there are loads.

The Die Hard series
Godfather
Godfather Part II
The Dark Knight Trilogy
The Avengers series
28 Days Later
Rise of the Footsoldier
Predator trilogy (Original, P2 & Predators...NOT AVP)

One not mentioned that I never tire of is Blazing Saddles.

Absolutely love the sheer lunacy of it,

Nothing, I can't bear to see the same film over and over again. 3 times is my maximum, except maybe Dirty Dancing.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age. I can watch that movie on a loop, every time I watch it I want to applaud at the end, there's just something perfect about it.

There are some films that I would watch if I haven't seen them for good while but none that I'd watch over and over.

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.

Don't know why. I wouldn't call it a classic and it's not even my favourite film. But I could easily watch it over and over again!
