Good grief, what on earth does Kate look like?
![]() Just turned TV on to witness Fiona and man whose wife has alzeimers in her 40s, interview. Very serious and terrible for husband, who has had to put his wife in a care home, so what did they do at the end of interview? Collapse into shrieks of laughter at next item while the guy is still sitting on the sofa! Not a clue! |

. I always thought Fiona Phillips had the right balance as she was genuinely interested in those she was interviewing, was sincere and genuinely compasionate when the story called for it and was lightherted with the entertainment news. I like Aled though, he's got quite a warmth about him and I think he's settling in quite nicely. I hope he won't be an early casualty if viewing figures fall as there is only one person to blame for that - the awful Kelly woman. And Kate Garraway looked a right fright this morning, like a middle aged Alice in Wonderland - what on Earth was she thinking with that hair, that dress?!! |

She refers to the audience as us women, which would suggest the programme is an ITV focus group's idea of what women like( soap gossip, X Factor talk, zelebs, diets, phone in competitions). I really would have liked it to have become what TV AM was like in the eighties.

Oh well done. Just switched on and stayed with Daybreak in anticipation of the Mitchell statement from Downing Street. What happens? They go there just in time for him to say 'I'm going inside now to get on with my work'.
Complete shambles! |

Fiona was a guest on Friday. Shame she wasn't presenting instead of Kate Garraway.
Starting to enjoy the Monday to Thursday shows with Lorraine and Aled. Anyone know how the viewing figures are doing. |

Just channel hopped and stumbled across Lorraine interviewing Laurence Fox. God, she is terrible. Irritating, ill informed and repetative.

I love Laurence- but was on phone so couldn't hear much of the interview- but obviously she got some details wrong as she was apologising profusely- what did she say?

I can't see the new Daybreak having longevity. Aled seems nice enough but dull as dishwater with no charisma, and Lorraine, (when she is actually present) is not much different and is still irritating at times. In fact, the new duo look like a mother and son team - not great, imo.

I'm not sure what expectations, the people complaining about the new Daybreak, have. Personally I think it is going just as it was in the 90s which people liked. Now all of a sudden people dislike it because of Lorraine even though she was liked in the past. Seems to be either jealousy or personal vendettas.
What else do people want from Daybreak? More news, more entertainment, less smiling, less warmth? For me it is perfectly balanced with a warm inviting atmosphere and presenters.

I have stopped watching it. I watch BBC until 7:30am, and then switch over to channel 4 to watch 'According to Jim'

As others have said she is not a very competent presenter, often muddling up facts, and misreading the autocue. She is simpering, false and two-faced to the point of nausea. She may have been in the job for years but that doesn't make her good at it. She has long outstayed her welcome on our screens. Actually having seen clips of her on GMTV in the mid 90s she is not as annoying so I think she has got worse as the years have gone on and her ego has perhaps increased? |
