What will happen with Dallas now that Larry Hagman has sadly died
I only just found out about his death literally minutes ago
As a massive Dallas fan this has come as a huge shock to me What do you think TNT should do with it after the upcoming second series If it is to continue I think it should be based around the younger John Ross Ewing But I feel that Dallas should take its final bow with JR,s death What a fitting end to an Iconic chapter in TV history that would be |

Soap fans say that no one character is bigger than the show, but JR was probably the exception to that saying.
Even in his old age in this new show, he was still such a massively important character it's hard to see how it can continue, which is a shame because i really enjoyed the new Dallas. R.i.P. Larry. A true legend! |

J.R. Ewing IS Dallas. I don't see how it can continue without him. Larry managed to film 6 episodes before his death so they'll likely be shown. I've been enjoying the new series but J.R. was still the best part of it so my enthusiasm for more Dallas has dwindled. Maybe it's best to finish out the season and just let it go.

It was sad to wake up and read that Larry had died. He was a lovely actor with such charm and charisma.
People watched it more for JR, Sue Ellen, Bobby,Cliff and Lucy in the new series. I found the new characters wishy washy apart from Annie. I am waiting for Val and Gary to come back. |

As I understand things, Larry featured in the second season; it may have sufficiently set up the next generation for a third season without him. The problem is that J.R does not own Ewing Oil or Southfork anymore, however he still has plenty of money, the show could feature the death of J.R & a bitter squabble for inheritance between Jon Ross & James, & maybe it could be revealed that Mandy Winger had an illegitimate child fathered by J.R - the way the guy 'played the field', he could have a dozen or so kids out there!

JR's final wife in the original series, Cally(the 'hicksville' girl), did she manage to conceive a child with him before the marriage went sour, or was it JR's other son James' baby?

He's an awesome man and I'm sure He will be looking down on us all now
I'm also pretty sure He'd want the show to continue, let's hope if it does its done well and his character isn't forgotten.. That's the only thing I'm worried about, whether he'd be a distant memory if it was to continue |

" By the time Cally divorces J.R., she really is pregnant with his child. However, in an attempt to escape from J.R., Cally lies that J.R.'s son James is the child's father and J.R. allows Cally to leave Dallas. Later, upon discovering the child's true paternity, J.R. decides to track Cally down and finds she has created a new life for herself in Florida with her new child and boyfriend. Realizing how happy Cally is, J.R. decides to leave her in peace." R.I.P. |

Oh yes, I forgot that Cally had a baby, there's so much scope for Dallas with all J.R's children fighting over his money!

Its sad news, my parents watched and loved Dallas back in the day (long ago before i was around lol) and its upsetting he passed away. I saw bits of the new Dallas eps when my mum was watching it and they looked good. I dont know what they are going to do to in the next season.

It has been reported that TNT will carry on with the show and find a way of incorporating JR's death. I guess an accident off screen???
Though given the fact he was receiving treatment for throat cancer during the 1st new series they may well have a contingency plan in place already |

Don't forget his son is John Ross - so they can start calling him JR for short, hence setting up the next generation....

I was quite amazed that Hagman was 81 when Duffy is only 63. I thought they were closer in age than that. Sad news all the same. |
