A guy on the train earlier was telling his mates that he'd been chatted up by a member of District 3 who'd been performing at the club he'd been in on the night in question.

It was one of the first gigs they did after being voted off XF and I think he said the club was called Oceania or something similar.

He told him he was flattered but wasn't interested because he had a girlfriend.

The way he described what had happened seemed very convincing but he was unable (or unwilling) to identify which bandmember it was.

Would be quite surprising tbh. Never got any gay vibes from Micky (joint lead singer) or Greg (blonde guy, other lead singer)

Do people really still view sexuality in this way in 2012? If you behave in a certain stereotypical way you must be gay, and if you don't, you must be straight?

Unless you know the person, the only way you can get the impression of whether or not they are gay is whether or not they exhibit any 'gay stereotypes'

Take That
Blue
Backstreet Boys

However, if they each do have a member who's "in the closet" then it's easily guessed who it is! The same can't be said for the long defunct boyband A1. I saw one of their old videos recently and couldn't decide who "the gay one" was!
