![]() Have to agree the first ep was boring but I managed to watch the rest of the eps during my insomnia period and it turned out to be a decent show. Have to agree with a previous poster about the Towler girl being Denise .

What I meant was when Miss Towler suggested a rose for the shop window it reminded me of Denise in The Paradise. Mr Moray called her his little champion for coming up with new ideas for the store...as you will gather I am a big fan of that programme...

I'm enjoying this, but I enjoyed ITV's Titanic, and I think it'll get similar ratings.

Good start; I think I'll watch it next week. It was light but interesting enough and it set up a few storylines to continue through the rest of the series.

Really enjoyed that... definitely tuning in next week... I just adore period dramas...

Good supporting cast, let down by shockingly poor delivery from Jeremy Piven, will stick with it another week or two, after all The Paradise took a few episodes to get going. Still stick by the points I made earlier though.

I enjoyed it once it got going, but the start was rather dull. It didn't need to be dragged out for 90 minutes, but that's par for the course these days.
Looking forward to the next episodes. |

Mr Selfridge improved in the second half. But I prefer the scenes without Mr Selfridge in it, he's too loud and shouting most of the time. This is the problem with it, the lead character is unlikeable.

I really enjoyed it. It took a while to get going but the second half was great. Perfect for Sunday nights. I didn't like Ripper Street last week at all so glad I opted for this tonight.

The storyline is good, but the acting isn't that great, just like in The Paradise. What is it with period dramas (apart from Downton Abbey) at the moment? There seems to be a tendency for over acting.

I agree with you that Mr. Selfridge is the weakest link of the lot but I think he is meant to be a character to be nervous about.

I missed this. Does anyone know if it's repeated?

Mr Selfridge - All I could think of was Kenny Everett with his BeeGees teeth.
