If she had been in hospital for four days the hospital would have been duty bound to inform the police anyway. This is just one reason I don't believe UJ's story.

Whether or not it's the hospital's job to report it to the police, it should be every woman's duty to report it in case it happens to another woman. If it happened to you Betty, wouldn't you want to see the person responsible brought to justice?

Because he could have sued her. You can't just accuse people in the press, you have to go through the legal procedure.
She let people know she was raped, she didn't want to go to the police. Her decision. The chances of a conviction after so long would have been virtually non-existent. If you mean why did she say it wasn't him - well, perhaps because it was? |

For a sexual assault of this alleged seriousness, the hospital would have called the police in the interest of public safety. After the police had investigated, the CPS would have been informed and they would make the decision to attempt prosecution based on likelihood of conviction and again public safety issues. UJ would have had to work extremely hard to dissuade the police and CPS from pressing ahead with this.
