Well, this is what she gets for trying to be clever.

Michelle Mone knows how to obtain a million pounds worth of advertising - for free. Imho, HF was never offered an Ultimo contract. 'Supporting' [] evidence: Ultimo replaces Rod Stewart's girlfriend with ex-wife

A million pounds to model underwear is obscene.

That's not really proof of anything though, is it? Ultimo would have more than one model representing the brand internationally. Rod's ex would be targeted at a particular market/age while a younger model would be for a different range/age group.

Not saying HF was in the frame or not - I haven't a clue or care less either way! - just saying above means nothing.

I totally agree. She's showing more and more of the breast area now - it's only a matter of time (and how much money is offered).

She is way over-rated in the looks department. I've never understood the hype myself.

She'll have a bit of fame in the lads mag regular sense but her personality, judgement and acting skills will all prevent her from getting much further. Poor judgement on her part but I can't believe they were going to pay her £1million to pout in a bra!

Lets make it clear its purely free publicity for Ultimo. She was never going to be paid a million pounds to model for them.

Its a made up story.

I note that Helen's spokeperson says she hasn't lost any firm offers. They could be lying, of course, but I incline to the view that either a) Helen was one of a number of possibles being considered for this role and might not have got it anyway or b) it's totally made up by Ultimo for publicity.

I don't understand it either. The Daily Fail are particularly obsessed with her. I don't think she's even attractive, from a the point of view of a straight woman.

Well, she wouldn't be from the point of view of a straight woman, would she? I'm a straight man; from my point of view no man whatsoever is attractive (well, apart from Leonardo di Caprio in The Man in the Iron Mask, where he couldn't look more like a girl if he tried)

Strange thing to say ...

Why do you think companies spend millions of pounds each year using attractive women for advertising ?

Bib is what I was driving at -thanks S80. The Rod Stewart story was a strong indicator that Michelle Mone loves to stir things up to generate free publicity - in that case quite nastily . Imho, as is also the case with silly HF and her gun pic...

I was just thinking this earlier on actually. It's happened before with the papers - someone is "dropped" or "fired" from a show or a deal of some kind, and you find out they only ever signed a short term deal anyway, or they were just one of any number of names spoken about who were never in any serious consideration anyway.

The most surprising thing about this is that anyone offered her a £1 million deal in the first place!

Although thinking about it, nowadays, celebrity culture means that any airhead with big norks can get famous for doing nothing.

Yeah, you could be right. Thinking about it, HF would have been a pretty bizarre choice anyway if the current Mrs Rod was dropped for the ex Mrs Rod in order to have someone with a higher profile (more likely imo cos they have the same management.) Who the hell would know HF outside of Heat Mag and Nuts readers?

Yes, but as a straight man, I'm sure you can appreciate when another man is good looking, even though he does nothing for you personally? There's a difference betwee acknowledging that someone is good looking, and actually finding them personally attractive.

I mean I am a straight woman, and I can see other women and think that they are very attractive, but I don't fancy them.

As for Helen Flanagan, I don't see what all the fuss is about either. She's not that good looking (obviously, it's all subjective) and doesn't seem to have anything between the ears either.

The way the thread title was written, I interpreted it that she already had a £1m deal which had since been cancelled. Perhaps it would have been better written to say "loses out on" the deal?

I'm a straight woman, I'll say if I find another female hot, and I don't think she's anything special. She's pretty but I don't think she's half as fit as everyone makes out. I don't hold anything against her, she's a bit daft but harmless.

What a strange post. People of the same gender can - and do - appreciate each other's looks (or not) all the time. I've never known someone to claim it just doesn't happen before.
