Probably doesn't count but Coupling used Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps which was covered by Mari Wilson.

The best ever "love and Marriage" by Frank Sinatra, used for Married with Children.

The opening credits cut to fit the tempo of the track brilliantly.

Red Cap used Reef -"Set the Record Straight" (although I don't know if that was in the charts):

An old BBC Melvin Bragg Book Review show had Paperback Writer as the theme.

Oasis,Half The World away, Royle Family. Love it
Great tune, one of my favourite Oasis tracks. Being pedantic though, wasn't it a B-side to "Whatever"? Not strictly a chart hit in its own right.

The Smoking Room used Close To Me by the Cure as it's theme tune.

I remember Reporting Scotland using the Emerson, Lake and Palmer version of Fanfare for the Common Man as their theme.

An 80's series called The Justice Game starring Denis Lawson had Waterfront by Simple Minds as its theme tune.
