Time for BBC to start panicking?
Nearing the middle of January now, and no news on the UK's representative for ESC2013.
Ok, usually the BBC do leave the UK entrant to the very last minute, but when do they start panicking and pick any old rubbish? |

Panicking? I'd be suprised if they've even started looking yet.

The only time BBC ever panics in regard to Eurovision is when they get the participation fee (which they'd rather spend on half an hour of Holby or 10 minutes of Dr Who)

Quietly confident we will hear something by the end of January or beginning of February just in time for the act to do a couple of national finals probably like blue though with out the Eurovision song.

We've had tweets to suggest they've been active unlike last year.

I wouldn't panic. Just because they haven't said anything publicly, doesn't mean that they're not doing anything. They've probably already decided what they're doing and are asking/have asked someone to represent us.
We all know the BBC are like MI5 when it comes to Eurovision.

Last year was ridiculous though we only knew the BBC was taking part because they were on the list of confirmed broadcasters and we didn't hearing anything until march and even then the song wasn't even recorded. I Imagine someone pulled out at the last minute or something then though and they have learned not to leave it so late to find an act.

We don't know anything about Armenia, Russia or Greece yet and they are often leading contenders. Along with Slovenia and Bulgaria, its no time to panic

I've definitely learnt from last year not to get my hopes up. It'll only end in disappointment.

No news does not mean they've not sorted everything out. My best guess is we'll get an announcement late on Thursday 28 Feb.
That was the timing planned with Blue (press spoiled there) and they managed it with Engelbert (andwere very happy with the results). Same again I think. |

No worries! On Scott Mill's radio show just now he said that he knows who the UK representative is and he's hearing the song next week! (Bearing in mind he's the commentator for the semi-finals on the BBC) So we should be hearing it soon then!

Obviously a big improvement on last year if true. At least it means the song's been written, which is more than we could say this time last year.

He was teasing ( 1.50 in iplayer) he's not 100% certain but knows he will hear the song & the vacancy has filled. Chris & Scott may write a song for Romania.

We just need to send something people would want to buy. It's really that simple.
