Was anyone else a big fan? Who was your favourite of his characters or which bit of the show did you particular like, etc?
Well if you turn to radio 2 its exactly the same lol

Yes SW was a delight to listen to and cracked me up....... Swatenegger Ouzziiiii 9milleee meettterr. I' sure he said something thas sounded like you aaaarrrrsssshooollllllee, can't remember exactly, but our team of boys at BT would just do that all day to eachother

I know it was'nt the 80's but Ask Elvis was just brilliant. Getting him to sing really stupid songs like Old McDonald had a farm and getting listeners to ask really random questions and the bloke just answered really well.

Loved the Down the pan Darleks and "Leave itttttttttt" amd the Cybermen next door "oh do give it a rest" Mick Jagger, the talkie bits (when they were new and interesting, not like what he is doing now)

To many comments like "Hi Steve, Love the show" have made me move away from it, but in the late Eighties/Early Nineties, Steve was Briil, up to his move to Breakfast.

Mr Mad : "That Steve Davis, the snooker player, he's mad !!!"
I loved Mr Mad. I used to wait by my radio with my fingers poised on the play and record buttons for his bits

Remember The Thug: ' 'ello wally wimp! It's the thug here!'

Also, The Hooligan: 'Span-nahhh!'; 'Some 'ink wrong wiv 'em!'

And remember when you had Cyndi Lauper and Tina Turner announcing they always listened to Steve Wright-in really deep butch male voices!?

I remember Al Castrati, life and soul of the party from around 1987 but it wasn't one of his more famous characters.

Remember, 'This is my song, my very own song. I can sing it short or I can sing it long. Dooby-dooby-doo....'?

Loved "Laura's First Love" and it's sequel.

Also remember "Satin Knickers" and "Has Mrs Jenkins been called yet?" appearing every so often for no adequately explained reason.

And... slightly off topic... anyone else remember SW's trailers for the first trials of Radio 1 FM in the London area? The one that started "What on earth are YOU doing here?"

Remember the man who filletted fish-and when he had that woman, Gert, who used to be hysterical, and Wrighty would tell the others to give her a slap!
