Remakes that were mooted but never happened
In 2003 rumours started about a brand new Carry On film called Carry On London
Many pepole were rumoured to be appearing in it Not much more more was heard of it after that But in early 2009 it looked as if the franchise was going to be revived However Peter Rogers who had been involved in all the films and was expected to return as producer died later that year |

Suspiria's been bandied about for years but has never come to fruition, thank goodness.

That new Carry On film would have been like a dire parody. I hate all the 'professional Londoners' who were all tipped to appear in it.

Fobidden Planet was mentioned a few times, in fact I think at one point James Cameron was attached in some way but it never happened... yet.

I was intrigued to see how close to the original Battle Royale the remake would dare to be but I guess I have the answer after watching The Hunger Games.
Hollywood's version would be to the original what Twilight is to any of the proper vampire horror movies. i.e. a chick flick! So just as well it looks like it won't happen now. |

Barbarella - every few years you hear of some airhead being 'auditioning' for the role but nothing ever comes of it and it's highly unlikely anything with now that De Laurentiis is no longer with us.

Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" was going to get the remake treatment. It even had a couple of big stars attached to it at one point - George Clooney being one of them. But so far nothing and I doubt that Clooney will still want to do it if they ever decide to go ahead with it. Too many years have passed already.
