One thing that's useful about Amazon's overbearing online presence: the other day I was in HMV, looking at discounted stuff. Saw a film I hadn't heard of, so I looked up the reviews on Amazon.

There's someone on Amazon selling a copy of the original Fright Night BluRay for 2,500 (two and a half thousand pounds). I wrote a review and included what I thought of the price. Can't say I was suprised when my review wasn't published.

I don't so much review DVDs on Amazon, as point out mistakes in the advertised running time, aspect ratio or whatever.

There's a site called "letterboxd" which I joined last year that has a lot of "amateur" reviewers. I tend to just comment on stuff i've watched when i watch it - nothing in depth, just if i liked it or not usually.

I always go to write reviews on products I've bought from Amazon but can never really be arsed. I think I've written about 3 reviews in the years I've been using the site.
