TV shows with a unique style or format
Well, maybe not unique but rare and possibly pioneering
Peep Show with it's POV filming Pete Versus Life with the sports commentators commentating on his life/desicions Any more? I can think of a couple of films. Stranger than Fiction where the main character's life is narrated and he starts to hear the narration Doom was the similar to the computer game in that many shots (I think a full section at the end) were POV. |

Modern Family is another one.
It has the family doing interviews to camera and also supposed to have a camera crew following them about but it's not always obvious when it is a realty tv part of the show or back into sitcom territory. They do give looks to the camera - some 4th wall stuff in there. |

How about The Larry Sanders Show. A mix between a real chat show and the behind the scenes.
Rob Brydon did something called Annually Retentive a few years back which was along the same lines. It had a panel show with proper guests but also a sitcom about the behind the scenes of the show. |
