when good mice go bad............
mouse has gone mental and reversed its sideways movements - when i move my hand left it goes right etc. up and down is fine, pad is fine.

You could try reinstalling your mouse.

It'll be in your device manager. If you uninstall it from there, then unplug the mouse and plug it back in...or reboot the machine it should automatically detect the mouse and install it again.

The ball maybe be fluffed up

I had that problem and when I was shown the dust it had collected my face was like this

Once cleaned i was well away
