Installed windows 8 today, and my old account has now vanished into a brand new account.

Is there any way to get it back? I've got urgent info stored in my browser which I really need to get at tonight.

Have you tried running Explorer (Windows key + E) and doing a search for "Favorites". If you have done an upgrade install it should still be there.

Thanks. So it's account settings in Google Chrome. Do you think they'll be there as well?

That's really what I need to get at.

Google Chrome can share bookmarks across computers, so if you sign into your Google account your favourites should be restored.
