Papers go up because as marginal readers flock online they seek to extract more money from the most avid readers who prefer paper print

I wonder how profitable Mail Online is? Apparently it's the world's most popular English-language newspaper site, even for Americans hence I guess why there are so many stories about US celebs that are unknown in the UK on the website.

Are they stories about young female US celebs that are "all grown up"?

Yeah but we don't know in what context people are looking website, a lot of people I know browse it for either sport or because of how bad the main news they run is / hilariously backward opinion pieces, google 'sidebar of shame'

If you're still buying the Daily Mail, you deserve to be charged at least sixty pence.

The DM is a vile publication so hopefully the price rise will see that circulation fall. |

It is a vicious circle, but sooner or later and I think it may be sooner for many newspapers it will not be cost effective to continue printing them. Some provincial newspapers, particularly, have seen their circulation half in the last 20 years and many saw an 8% to 11% drop in circulation last year alone. |
