The Extraordinary Adventures Of Adele Blanc-Sec. Utterly bonkers and really rather wonderful. I did think there were one or two plot holes though.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1950) - 6.5/10
I know the story but hadn't seen this one, the blurb said "the most shocking ending of all cinema history", which is a complete fabrication. The cast and the sense of dread/desparation throughout the film make it more than a solid watch

K-PAX - 6.5/10 Spacey is superb

Taking of Pelham 123: 1/10.

Everything that is wrong with modern films is showcased in this dire movie.

'Seven Psychopaths' from the same team
that brought us 'In Bruges'.Brilliant film
if you care for this sort of thing, which I
do of course!
About to watch all four plays in 'The Hollow
Crown' cycle, which was shown last year I
believe,on the BBC?
Anyway four linked Shakespeare dramas,
with an unbelievable ensemble cast!

I thought it was a terrible film too. Stopped watching after half an hour.

I tuned in to watch Jaws on ITV4 last night ( I always watch it when it's on telly), but the scene with the 2 guys on the jetty not long after the start of the film, had been chopped which I thought was a bit odd - and pointless. I gave up before Quint and crew headed out to capture Jaws as it annoys me when films get chopped

Agree that happens a lot with afternoon films !...if a film has got adult content show it late on !..another thing that annoys me is voice overs in the credits and music at the end and blocking the cast list with adverts of proggrammes when you want to view info ..aaaagghh !

Raid: Redemption

Terrific action film from Indonesia. Although it's not even remotely original, it was still very well done and very intense. I noticed that some of the extras were reused to play other gangsters throughout the film.

Spoiler

Les Miserables - I saw this at the cinema again yesterday (second viewing). I'm glad that I saw it again because I really understood it all the second time round

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower - Again, a second viewing. I enjoyed it just as much this time, though I cried more than once. I wasn't expecting that.

"Orphan" freaked me out too. I had not heard of the film before and did not know the ending when I watched it.

The original with Walther Matthau and Robert Shaw was far superior

Courtesy of Lovefilm DVD rentals, I have just watched Snow White and the Huntsman on blu-ray.

I thought it was an entertaining film despite its flaws, (Kristin Stewart was miscast) with really good action scenes and effects which did not distract from the story.

The blu-ray edition was pretty good too with DTS-HD 7:1 soundtrack which sounded great on my system. Might buy this sometime.

Let's face it, Robert Shaw's presence in a film always makes it worthwhile. I can tolerate any disliked actor when he's in the film. Like Figures in a Landscape with Malcolm McDowell whom I'm not that keen on.

Yankee Doodle Dandy on Monday
The Roaring Twenties last night

I love Cagney's films, they all have such memorable endings. I have three more to watch this week. I'm going to leave my favourite, Angels with Dirty Faces, till last.

Flight - 7/10 - very good film, Denzil Wasington was fantastic as usual, a lot of important messages about the effects of drink and drugs
