If it's on twitter and people are saying it's confirmed it probably isn't. Someone tweets one thing and so then other people see it, assume it's true, they get excited and tweet about it. Then you have all the people who see those tweets and the same thing happens over and over again. I keep seeing tweets about Moffat confirming an Eleven Doctors special but nobody has any proof so how can they say he's confirmed it?

hurray! Donna is a top companion. and now that it has been on Twitter it's practically a contract. Except granny's right. The only people we can be sure definitely aren't in the special are people who haven't denied that they are. Ever since Matt Smith failed to deny he's been asked I've been convinced he won't be in it.

One of the few people with sense. Unless either the BBC or Moffat actually state that someone is coming back, I will assume no one is coming back until it is officially stated otherwise. Tweets are speculation do not count.

By the end of May, when the second half of Series 7 has aired, we'll have had three full series without Donna. I'd say that's pretty free, wouldn't you?

Besides if she appears in the 50th, it'll probably be the last time we ever see the character on screen.

Indeed; we'll be aware that the original poster is:

• so selfish that they don't care whether they ruin other people's enjoyment; or
• so wilfully ignorant that they haven't spotted the normal spoiler policy here.

An appropriate title for this thread — given that the poster believes it to be factual news, not speculation — might have been something like '*SPOILER* Casting for the 50th Anniversary' or something like that.

The conversation then could have been about the news itself without the sidebar of people like me complaining about the spoiler. So everybody wins.

I think this is just the usual blind speculation and internet chitter chatter. But I wouldn't expect Donna to play any kind of big part in the story. An appearance? Why not. She is one of the defining companions. But her tale was told. It was a bit of a stretch bringing her back for EOT but then the pay off was sweet and suitable. Anymore would be pushing it. A good story almost has a life of its own and needs to be told. I feel Donnas has been exhausted. That's why Sarah Jane worked. It felt like unfinished business. I think RTD did a good job of placing a definitive full stop on his era so beyond cameos? No thanks. But for goodness sake bring back Jack. Please.
