I saw it tonight (as the special official opening film for the new Vue cinema in the Millennium Dome).
Didn't like the weird colour tint that it's filmed in. Great film otherwise though, if a little too much like "24" with all the weird computers and satellite stuff. Got a bit TOO unrealistic towards the end when the plane joined in the fun. The earlier bit with the helicopter was brilliant. And the Asian chick was smokin' hot, especially at the power plant. Could well prove to be the best of the summer blockbusters, although I'm looking forward to Harry Potter. |

Watching this on C4 and hadn't noticed this before, but there is a tiny nod to the original near the start.. one of the computer sound effect noises sounded like it was the same sound effect they used in Die Hard 1 when John was using the touch screen to find what floor Holly in the employee directory.

i thought i liked this but re watched all 4 this weekend and this is by far the weakest.
the fact it's a 12a or what ever really ruins it. the story is pants and its just die hard by name, nothing else. die hard 1&2 are the best for the simple reason the action is on one confined area 3&4 they are expanded to the city. I'm worried about 5 |

Die Hard 1 was set in a building.
Die Hard 2 was set in an airport and the surrounding area. Die Hard 3 was set in New York City. Die Hard 4 was set in New York City, New Jersey, West Virginia and Maryland. Die Hard 5 is set in Russia. At this rate, Die Hard 6 which Bruce recently confirmed is coming, will be set in outer space. |

as someone said, the 2nd was in an airport and surrounding area, i agree its expaneded somewhat but its still about the terrorists taking control of a building and a situation where the guys in power normally are now powerless. i did enjoy the 3rd and it did feel like a die hard with the connections to the first one but it didnt have that fear that you got watching the first of hes not going to get out, or bad guys are going to get him, NYC is a big place so there is no element of confinement and claustraphobia if you know what i mean. the 4th one bruce just looked way out of his depth with the technology angle, as the world has moved forward in the 20 years between the first and 4th one, it seemed Bruce seemed lost and add that to the fact it was a pg-13/ 12a/ 15 (harder cut) doesnt really mean anything, they made a kids action movie and it was an embarrassment to have yippee kai yay mother f*cker drowned out by the gun shot. Teens are prob happy with this movie but when you have grown up with franchises such as this and terminator in the 80s and 20 years later they are making them as PG or 12s is an insult. Same with bloody robocop. i will reserve judgement till i see the 5th one, but something tells me we wont ever see another film like the original die hard for a long time |

Isn't that relavent to John Mcclane though as in the first Die Hard Holly did say something along the lines of that John doesn't like technology so the character will be slightly out of his depth anyway as technology is not in his comfort zone.
