Do people know why Dr Who travels in an old police phone box?
The reason was explained in series one. The "cloaking device" on the Tardis had failed after landing in London.
The Tardis was designed to blend in with its surrounding and appear as a common place object at its new location.
So even though Dr Who can save the universe, kill Daleks and transmut into a different doctor he cannot fix his Police phone box!

15 is slightly wrong - all designers in the department at the time went on the BBC's directors course. Ridley Scott did not want to work on a children'sprogramme - the job of designing the Daleks then went to Ray Cusick and his assistant - my Dad (Spencer Chapman). Dad was promoted to full designer the next year and worked on two Doctor Who stories DIoE and the Space Museum.

The fact the lead character in Prometheus was called Elizabeth Shaw- and is basically the same character as the Liz Shaw in Who- was a hint about Scott.

I think he voiced something in a Star Wars cartoon or something.
