Extremely vague movie title request
http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=2T0VX...%3D2T0VX3015FU
Can anyone tell me the name of a US film from some years back, the theme music was similar to a recent McDonalds advert, possibly played on the glockenspiel. The basic storyline is a young couple on the run from a mobster/ mafia type gang, possibly connected to the girls father, they have a car and hide out in a motel. I remember the music being very poignant, and he film being a bit violent in parts. I know this is very vague and a bit of a stab in the dark

Are you thinking of Badlands? That theme was used very prominently in the film. It featured a young couple on the run but they were on a killing spree, not evading the Mob
![]() Might be the one you're thinking of |

Actually, though the same music was originated in Badlands, which was also about a young couple on the run, the description sounds more like True Romance, which also used a similar theme extensively. -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YT-yy...endscreen&NR=1 The version in True Romance is not the original but Hans Zimmers reworking of it. However, that same theme has been used and plagiarised endlessly on various tv adverts, and used in a few other movies. This is the original from Badlands...incidentally True Romance was a kind of homage to this movie anyway - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CxCQlYDxpg The original piece is called Gassenhaur by Carl Orrf. |

I still think it's True Romance, not Badlands. True Romance has the couple on the run from the mafia, including Christopher Walken and James Gandolfini. Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette. And they do hang out in motels quite a lot. Dennis Hopper as Slaters father also figures extensively. There was no mafia or motels involved in the original Badlands, which was made in1972, whereas True Romance is 1993. Check out the trailer for both - True Romance - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AIbZDBC8tk Badlands - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcFx06cBmbk |

Thanks, it WAS True romance! When I watched the trailor for Badlands I kind of recognised it as being the film I was referring to but thought my memory of the film wasn't so good, but having just watched the clip from True Love, it all came back to me ![]() Thanks everyone for your replies. Did the same music feature in both films? |

Sorry, I have another request. I saw part of a film back in 2003 that had Patrick Stewart in it and the film and indeed the scene I saw was grim. I think the start had him and a group of men out in a desert putting a woman in a coffin and burying her alive. Sorry, the lack of knowledge but I did try looking it up on Wikipedia and IMDB under Patrick Stewart and clicked on the films around the year I thought film may have been released. So, I looked around the late nineties early noughties as I have a feeling then when it was made, but I could not find anything that matched what I saw.
