jrmswfc -- that's a hard one alright. I'm thinking classic series. Did the monk ever say that?

Don't feel silly - I think we're all the victims of a wind-up. Not only did tiggerpoo completely hijack the thread by stealing a turn without answering the previous quote, he also changed his quote after you'd had a go (hence the suggestion you go back and read it again). The original quote was indeed "I demand to see whoever's in charge of this ship", which was Tegan from Logopolis.

Please tiggerpoo, if you don't want to play fairly, then don't play at all. Now, let's get back to jrmswfc's quote...

"I'm having a whale of a time".

Was it the Doctor to Stevens in 'The Green Death'?

Several possibilities. I'm getting a Doctor 3 vibe. Carnival of Monsters?

I guess that scuppers my other guesses of Dinosaur Invasion or Green Death then, although I did think they'd be a bit too obvious to be correct.

I'll go more recent then with a completely wild guess (because I'm not that keen on new Who and have very rarely rewatched any of them so I don't really know the lines) and go for something in Dalek when they're in that museum bit with the Cyberman mask.

Nope, not a Pertwee story or from New Who either. At the risk of giving it away, the person who said this quote also went on to say:

"Everyone's a specimen of something"

Nope, sorry. I'm going to make this really easy and offer three quotes from the same character/story:

"You have to be careful with these rare specimens."
"Everyone's a specimen of something."
"Between you and me, old boy, she's rather an unusual little specimen."

Not waiting for confirmation as I've used that quote before.
