I don't understand the outrage behind the late announcement date erm announcement lol

Engelbert was announced on 1st March with the song being revealed on 19th March, they are just following the same reveal. The same way Switzerland announce so early we just have to get get used to announcing so late
And that was a resounding success of course.

Why am I not surprised
Like Caroline and Amanda though. Eddie would be better had it not been drawn in the same place it makes the comparison more obvious.

If its glittery she will end up looking like Marie Serneholt from last year, that was a terrible choice of outfit for her.
It makes her look like she has an oversized crotch

Did Agnes really turn down Heart Strings, that was stupid, I really like it.
I think you can kind of tell it was written with Agnes in mind. It's a shame she's been put off Melfest because I think she would have done really well with it.

Yes, you're totally right - the only reason Englebert failed was because he got announced in March... Sheesh...

Hopefully when the BBC make the announcement they'll check that the artist is in the country at the time and how about making the song available for download immediately. Even with the cocked-up announcement last year Engelbert received huge press coverage and if the song had been available it could've made top 10. Will they ever learn that waiting till the week of Eurovision to release the song is pointless.

We're getting some sort of announcement/reveal on March 18th? Also yippie!
I'm getting broadband set up this week! Yippie!

What happened that made her hate it?

.

That creepy Romanian opera singer has released his song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzSIratxJfc
I can't decide if this is a work of misunderstood genius or totally batshit mental or both at the same time. I know he can perform the big notes live, but I'm really kind of hoping for a Krassimir type performance just for the

Perhaps we can begin to pencil in Marco Mengoni for Italy http://www.eurofestival.ws/2013/02/1...-contest-2013/ (this site got the last two entries correct could still be wrong)

His Sanremo songs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSDgWxVKyvc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qn21SUuoYA

The main sticking point he could end up winning Sanremo which might be a sticking point.

Yeah, I don't think they'll ever have any incentive to change. At least we have a date now I suppose.

Anyway, here are tonight's Melfest clips to cheer us all up:

http://www.svt.se/melodifestivalen/l...kvallens-latar
I'm going to be so disappointed tonight when the Crumblies and Eddie qualify at the expense of Martin, Ugglas or Elin.

Amanda's is the best song for me, but her live vocal on the rehearsal clip wasn't the best so I'm hoping for better tonight.

Heartstrings has an epic sound to it and should make it to FA easily enough if Jagnes () nails it and THAT note.

Ht 16 result and regular voters Fudd and Saturn were missing in action this week. Come back asap!

Perhaps not the strongest of weeks and we nearly have a first ever nul point in these second round heats!

http://tummiweb.com/scorewiz/scorebo...-poll-rd2-ht16

First 6 to qualify

The second song is the better of the two for me, but I can't get past the strange eyebrow and that hideous suit.

The orchestra sounds fab on the first song and the staging is quite something to look at. They certainly take it seriously.

I knew who would ride to the rescue of the null pointer before their points were revealed. Saved from the dreaded null at the very last minute.

I told Roger that I knew who Jacob would give 12 to, I just didn't know that would be the only points he got

I am pleasantly surprised with the results, apart from the dire song in 3rd, I like the qualifiers (the 7th placed song really should have made it though...)
