For those contributors to/readers of this thread mulling over what newspaper they should pick up today, may I recommend The Times. With it being the 20th anniversary of Bobby Moore's death this week, Jonathan Pearce has written a long article in today's Times about his memories of working with Bobby on Capital Radio during the late 1980s and early 1990s, with them working together right up until the week of Bobby's untimely death.

It is a moving and heartfelt tribute containing some lovely little stories from Jonathan and Bobby's work at Italia 90 and Euro 92 so it is well worth a read. It is also an antidote to the lazy comments you hear/read about Bobby's stint as a co-commentator on Sportstime in his final years, as if a job which going by JP's recollections he clearly enjoyed was some kind of hardship for him (while I agree the football authorities should have done more to honour him in his later years, it irks me when people write negatively about his radio work as if working on commercial radio was somehow beneath him).

Thursday 21st February - talkSPORT

Adrian Durham and Danny Kelly presenting a Kick Off: Europa League Special

UEFA Europa League Round of 32 Second Leg
Metalist Kharkiv v Newcastle United - Graham Courtney
Olympique Lyonnais v Tottenham Hotspur - Nigel Adderley and Alvin Martin (6pm commentary)
Chelsea v Sparta Prague - Sam Matterface and Jason Cundy (8.05pm commentary), with Ian Abrahams at pitchside and James Dodd producing
Liverpool v Zenit Saint Petersburg - Graham Beecroft

Adrian Durham, having presented a truncated version of Drive Time with Darren Gough between 4-5.50pm, hosted brief build-up to and the half-time period in the Spurs game, with Danny Kelly replacing him in the chair at full-time in Lyon. It should also be noted that Jason Cundy is a late change in the commentary box at Chelsea, Ray Parlour was originally scheduled to be on duty there tonight.

Sam Matterface outlined talkSPORT's coverage plans for Sunday during the first half of tonight's commentary. Georgie Bingham will be presenting Sunday Exclusive (he didn't say where from, which may indicate that she will be studio-based as usual), with Nigel Adderley, Ray Parlour and Robbie Fowler being their team at Manchester City v Chelsea, while Sam, Stan Collymore and Matt Holland will be at Wembley for the Capital One Cup Final.

Hosting from Wembley I believe, with Ian Abrahams as reporter.

talkSPORT has produced a documentary about the League Cup Final between Bradford and Swansea.....

talkSPORT has produced a fascinating documentary about the Capital One Cup final between Bradford City and Swansea City on Sunday. The programme, A Tale of Two Cities, will be aired in three parts at 9.30am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

It will take an in-depth look at the histories of both teams over the past decade and their very different journeys to the final.

Guests include current Swansea player Leon Britton, ex-Swansea managers Brendan Rodgers and Kenny Jackett, ex-Bradford players Stuart McCall, Dean Windass and Stan Collymore plus Paul Jewell, who used to manage the team. We will also hear all the latest from the current squads.

The documentary will be voiced by two presenters from UTV Media (GB) local stations: Kev Johns from Swansea Sound and Kevin Foster from the Pulse in West Yorkshire.

talkSPORT will also broadcast full and uninterrupted commentary of the match. The Sunday Exclusive, hosted by Georgie Bingham and Robbie Fowler, will kick off at 12pm. The show will feature a build up to the big match with special guests and then commentary from Sam Matterface and Stan Collymore from Wembley Stadium.

Thanks, Georgie hosted both games of their double header on League Cup Final day from Wembley Stadium last season so this is what I was expecting. It isn't a great surprise either that Ian Abrahams is on pitchside reporting duty, some of his best work for talkSPORT has been at Cup and Play-Off Finals as he's very adept at talking to fans on Wembley Way pre-match and then collaring players on the pitch immediately after the final whistle.

I would have liked to have seen talkSPORT's regional correspondents who regularly cover the clubs involved - in this case John Temple and Roger Hughes - being involved as well, as has been the case on their coverage of this final in recent seasons. Given that both team's local commercial radio partners are UTV Radio-owned, perhaps they might be involved as reporters on Pulse and Swansea Sound's respective commentaries.

The broadcast hasn't been uploaded to the iPlayer but going by Twitter, Conor McNamara and Kevin Gallacher commentated on Leeds United v Blackpool. So it was another occasion when Radio 5 Live Sports Extra produced their own commentary on a Football League game rather than taking the BBC Local Radio commentary for the home club, which had been the common thing they were doing during the first half of the year.

It did. The same thing happened in the Maritimo game and in Bruges. Not sure if Radio Newcastle has bad luck or terrible equipment.

No idea who hosted the emergency studio coverage. Its the same guy who did it for the other 2 games as well. Never gives his name. Wasn't Raisbeck, Pryde or Emmerson who are the 'Sports presenters'

Thanks for the info

BBC Radio Leeds don't have the rights for Leeds Utd. They would have had to use Radio Lancashire's Blackpool coverage

It's Darren Fletcher & Nigel Spackman on 5Live for Fulham/Stoke

Other than when he is on NFL duty, Darren has been given this slot as his regular gig

According to 5Live website, there's a 606 on Tuesday at 10, the presenter(s) aren't listed, I wonder if this is just an admin error as they haven't had a midweek edition for the last 2 seasons.

Unless it's
a) Some sort of special edition
b) Tony Livesey for some reason can't start till 11 and it's being used as a filler
