Sounds like a minor role.
> JIM Carrey has officially joined the cast of Kick-Ass 2. The funnyman will play Colonel Stars, an ex-thug who sets up the crimefighting team Justice Forever in the comic book sequel. < |

Don't think it's minor but not sure it's major either. Good news anyway IMO, JC is an excellent actor.

If he's playing a superhero/fighter who recruits Kick Ass and co. to his team it seems like a fairly big role to me. I thought he'd be the villain too.
I think it'd be more interesting if some of them are "homemade heroes" like Kick Ass and not real trained ones like Hit Girl. |

The role is presumably that of Colonel Stars, an ex-thug and born again Christian who sets up Justice Forever (a superhero team that Kick-Ass joins early on in the second volume). Colonel Stars’ pet dog is used in one of the comic’s many set pieces, though the role itself is relatively minor. |

John Leguizamo and Lindy Booth have joined the cast.
Can't believe they're still going with the 'Motherf**ker' name. It won't be funny to hear that throughout the film..... |

Watched the first Kick Ass for about the twentieth time earlier tonight. I hope the new director keeps the tone the same in the sequel, especially the soundtrack which I love.

As a big fan of the first I gotta say this looks just as good. I just have to hope it has the style of the first.

The book, Kick Ass 2, is disappointing, the second half of it is just violence, violence & more violence with very little else. It's not funny, and that's a fatal flaw.
A direct adaptation of it would likely be a contender for most violent film ever, but who knows. Quote:

Kick Ass trailer was good though seemed awkwardly filmed. Jim Carrey was unrecognisable (that voice!), can't wait to see what he brings because he hasn't been in any decent films in a while.
