cliff pretty much came out on that piers morgan interview.
without actually saying i'm gay I also wanted to add that some people have homophobic families.
I'm bi and I would never come out to my parents as I don't really get on with them and they don't agree with gay relationships they hate bisexuals even more.
some celebrities are also advised by managment not to risk it.
the saddest case was luther vandross who according to sources was desperate to bring partners on to the red carpet.
It's even harder for black celebrities.
That's all well and good but I don't agree with openly gay celebrities having fake relationships with the opposite sex for publicity purposes. That's extremely disingenuous and misleading to the public.

Apparently it's not 'morally repugnant' to out someone's sexuality, regardless of what negative effects it may have on their personal life or relationships.

Interesting angle...
Yes because that which you mention (which may or may not be true, false, morally repungant or not) is clearly far worse (and goes on much more) than an entire $$$ industry devoted to inning various highly-paid celebrities, politicians and sports people, so they can live fake lives to earn huge amounts of money based on false images, perpetuating the shame of the closet system.

Who gets paid for speculating someone might be gay? As opposed to actively inning people, requiring whole teams and PR setups to do it.

I know which one I find worse in general. And which one I could live with personally.

Not to mention lying to themselves.

I don't see it as lying to themselves. I'm sure their family, friends and whatever team they have around them are aware of their sexual orientation. Fake relationships (gay and straight) are done for publicity purposes to maximize the brand and draw attention to the celebrities. I'm highly doubtful there are many celebrities in the closet due to their tortured psyches.

I don't agree with fake relationships it's fine to keep it quiet.
But it's another thing to make out you are straight when your not however I do understand it's all about money.
I also read somewhere apperently according to various hollywood sources that leonardo di caprio is gay.
Which suprised me and that his romances are all fake.
Was thinking about that bind item from 2008 about the girl band member and I was wondering maybe it was the sugababes.

If they are in a position of helping others and in the public eye, then they should come out or be dragged out.

Even more so if they say homophobic things.
No one is entitled to know the sexual orientation / preferences of anyone (as long as those preferences are legal ) , no one is dragged and outed as being straight so why should they for being gay.

The only time I would feel little sympathy for a person outed against their wishes is if they had actively spoken out against those who are gay for being gay whilst pretending to be straight themselves

Given all the allegedly gay men Kelly Brook and Taylor Swift have been out with I wonder if they're lesbian?

And if so can they get together and make a sex tape please?

There have certainly been suggestions about both of them. Them being together would make the tabloids explode I think lol

I think that could have been about Cheryl Cole.
Have been suspicious about her for years.

Everyone day is heterosexual day so they don't need to.

Everyday should be homosexual day but sadly it is still playing the poor relation.

I see the front page of DS states that Christopher from last years X Factor has come out.

I expect them to confirm the Pope is Catholic soon.

They could confirm the Pope has come out.

No one would be shocked by that either.

Let's face it it's more surprising that the XF doesn't engender 'No, I'm straight actually' stories.

I think that is why Dec doesn't come out due to his family.

That's what I was thinking.

And why is it unfair on the public? I'm sure the public can cope, it is hardly going to ruin their lives.
