Well, in this case there was a camera and presumably a camera man in the car too - and certainly sure to be other film crew around.

I am watching this too - and also fuming. Not just because of the traffickers - but also the idiots who buy these poor animals and therefore keep the trade going. If someone wants a dog (not a fashion accessory - what the matter with Battersea Dogs Home?

Seriously - who on earth buys a pedigree puppy off the back of a van? Or where you can't see the mother?

sadly there are way too many idiots who dont care about anything or anyone as long as there's money to be made polotictians will do nowt, but then its kinda there fault.

That was awful seeing 45 puppies crammed in that van. Did they get away with what they are doing? If so that is disgusting.

I am actually glad that laws have been relaxed as it means that pets can now go on holiday too. However, absolutely nothing can condone the actions of those scumbags bringing puppies in with false paperwork. I simply cannot believe that people are STILL buying from questionable breeders, online, and pet shops. Sites like Gumtree must be banned from advertising animals. It must be made illegal for pet shops to sell them and disreputable breeders must be hit with big fines and possible jail time.

As for the presenter. He did NOT set a good example. A wide open window is like an invitation to steal a dog. It would be very easy for someone to snatch a dog and whisk it away before the owner has even had the chance to react. It is sheer and utter foolishness to leave a dog unattended outside. And a small dog like his is a sitting target alone in a car. I don't care if there were crew members present, the fact remains that those things weren't discouraged.

I can understand about taking your pet on hols with you

I do not understand why people buy puppies that they cannot see both the parents? and how Gumtree gets away with it is beyond me

As for leaving his dog in his car it made me fume what a bad example to give people!

I now cannot take my dogs with me or leave them tied up outside a shop for fear of some scumbag stealing them for selling or baiting.
