Does anybody have comedy shows that they have loved but never found funny?
Bread didn't make me laugh but Butterflies did.

What genre was Auf Wiedersen Pet?

It may not have technically qualified as a sitcoms but had the laugh count, intended or not of many sitcoms. Minder probably too, to a lesser degree so surely you can watch sitcoms the way you watch those?
comedy-drama - This was some of the best UK TV ever made - great cast and very enjoyable to watch...apart from the series 3 and 4 (2002 - 2004). Why can't they just leave things alone and stop trying to rekindle them.

Everybody Loves Raymond, except for Peter Boyle as the dad I don't find any of the characters funny but I do like the show for some reason. Maybe it's because they're a close bickering family unit that a lot of us can identify with.

One Foot in the Grave wasn't always laugh out loud funny, but it was brilliantly written and acted. I don't actually like sitcoms, especially when they have an audience laughter track but I stumbled across OFITG on TV one day. It was an episode set entirely in a car - Victor, Margaret and a friend were stuck on the motorway in a traffic jam. Despite this, I never got bored, the dialogue was so brilliantly written - and I don't think I laughed out loud either but I enjoyed it and it has stuck in my mind for years.
I love OFITG. That episode was one of the best IMO. The complete randomness of

was brilliant. And yes the tape recording is funny too. I'm a bit of a Victor myself though but 30 years too early!!!

Gilligan's Island. I just wanted to see if they would be rescued. I needed to see Thurston & Lovie safe.

Bit harsh on series 3, it was right up with series 2 IMO. 4 was rubbish though
