I see the BBC have added a footnote to the article quoting a report that declares "Smartphone rival Samsung is now seen as equally “inspiring” in the US, says the survey by consultancy Added Value." which reads :
"This story has been updated to reflect that WPP works for Samsung." (Added Value is a subsidiary of WPP.) |

I'm not sure about this. Most iOS apps are designed to have navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen. I think it better suits a physical home button (that can also be used for other purposes like recent apps and Siri), but I can also see the logic behind removing it for extra screen space.
