Odd... LTE was enabled near Newcastle Airport in November (it was one of the first cells to be LTE upgraded in Newcastle).

However, for the last two month it seems to have been down - back to a patchy 3G signal near the airport and surrounding areas.

Anyone know what could be going on?

you can see it on the ee coverage map now. there's also 4g coverage from a mast near aldi in rhyl which isn't shown on the map yet. might be more dotted about i havent spotted.

It appears you are correct, Credit where it is due...

Any ideas when it will be moving more towards Llandudno area..? Would be silly to upgrade just yet as I would have to drive 15mins to use the service... Ooops.

How are people finding there new 4G service? I have the iphone 5 and its been pretty good, i do find the iphone tends to wait a while before flicking back to 4G and sometimes needs a manual aeroplane mode and back.

Not for me. As soon as I drive into a 4G area my phone picks it up and drops it just as quick when I drive out of it (No total drop in signal, just switches to 3G).

I have noticed 2g in some shops though in the City Centre instead of 4G when the mast is a stones throw away and uses the same wavelength. Seems odd...

When mine drops LTE it picks up a signal but does not reconnect the data so i cant tell if its connected to 2 or 3G. Might do a restore see if that fixes it.

EE map not updated yet. Surely there should be a lot more coverage by now?

Thanks Plymouth, any idea how it will be fixed? A new carrier update?? I also find my iphone5 slow to switch to LTE and especially when traveling on the train through Luton when it does not pick up LTE at all.

I was losing my data connection A LOT. I spoke to CS who were stroppy with me when I said it must be a network issue. It is, it isnt, it is, it isnt etc.

Seems to be better now though.

Considering that coverage is supposed to be rolling out at speed how come the map doesn't show much more coverage than it did 2 months ago?

I can beat your download speeds on 3 DC-HSDPA I was expecting much higher than 27Mb.
