Broadmoor aside as thats a whole other matter , the age being lowered to 16 was what many others thought it should be as well, equal to that of heterosexual sex, now if she had said 12 or 13 there should be raised eyebrows and questions , but all she said was make it equal.
As I tried to show previously, in the 1960's, somethings were completely outlawed which are now legal, while at the same time there were no laws for things that are now

For example having inappropriate pictures of children was not illegal. I think it was not till 1978 that it was illegal to take inappropriate photos of children.

Although the hetrosexual age of consent was 16, the 1960 Children's Act only made certain things a crime if the child was 14 or younger.

There appears to have been discussions (1970's/80's) whether to bridge the gap by lowering the age of consent to 14. That's why the age 14 was mentioned in debates.

Coming back to the present time, although illegal so far I haven't found any prosecutions for a male having consentual sex with another male aged 16 to 18. Either they are abstaining or the authorities are turning a blind eye?

Looks like 1960 Act still applies, from the Surrey Police report into their investigation regarding one of the allegations at Duncroft...

Police have confirmed via the CPS Head of Trials Unit that the only relevant offence that may have been committed was under S.1 Indecency with Children Act 1960. However, this offence is only applicable if committed against a child under the age of 14yrs therefore it is reasonable to conclude Ms D was not a victim of crime in the event she describes. She was of course a victim of Savile’s inappropriate behaviour.
Might explain why historic cases featured in the press are of people said to have been 14 years old at the time?

But if under the law the act was with a child between 14 and 16 was it still an offence if it was not consensual ?

I'd be interested to know how helpful/unhelpful supportive/not supportive the Yewtree officers were, if you're OK talking about it.
I phoned the NSPCC helpline first, who were extremely helpful and supportive. I was shaking like a leaf at the time, which surprised me. Then I gave a full statement to a police officer at my local nick, which was hard, because he wanted to know all the sordid details. After that I was interviewed by two Yewtree officers, a man and a woman, who were very sympathetic and didn't make me go through all the details again. Instead I gave them chapter and verse of all the complaints I made since 1991, with documentary evidence to support it, and the names of people at Springfield who were aware of it, including an executive director of the South West London and St George's Mental Health Trust I wrote to about it in 2005. It was not the only complaint I made against Springfield, who got my name and my personal history wrong in 1979. I had been trying to get my medical records corrected since 1995, so I had all the notes, which is why I was able to prove to the police that I had complained about Johnny Savile in 1991, as well as exactly what happened in 1979, including the date I was raped by that bastard.

Correcting the records proved impossible, despite several attempts to prove that I was never deluded about my identity or my background. I even tried to sue them as a litigant in person under the Data Protection Act! After the revelations about Johnny Savile, however, I have finally been able to convince the mental health experts that the story of my life is true and their version is fiction, by comparing it to the accurate contemporary account in the diaries my father kept for more than fifty years.

So from my point of view contacting Operation Yewtree had an extremely positive outcome.

Don't know if people have seen this today....
The alleged culprit's name has been suggested in a couple of [past] tabloid articles - and on March 27, 2013: here. RIP Mr Joslin.

Does someone here have the twitter name kriskuz62? Someone with that name tweeted me asking me to RT a link to this 'everybody knows' video:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPEH4h7s7hg with Fernbridge and ElmGuestHouse hashtags (but not the #paedobritain one). I just wondered where they got my username from because I haven't tweeted about paedophiles/JS etc., the only thing I can think of is when I tweeted MWT a few times but those were pretty general tweets sent months ago? so im guessing they found me through here but my twitter name isn't on my profile?.

They seem to be spam tweeting alot of people, celebs etc.. Most of my followers are American so I don't think I'd be much help. I've barely been tweeting at all this week, compared to my usual standards anyway lol.

I'm becoming more interested in Moor Larkins Blogs.
http://jimcannotfixthis.blogspot.co....ition-pt4.html

Moor linked to a daily Mirror Article 30th Sep 12
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news...v-star-1351439

Taken from the article.

Victim 1: He violated me in worst way possible

It was meant to be the trip of a lifetime... to see the bright lights of London.

But it turned into a nightmare for a young woman of 20 who claims she was raped by Sir Jimmy Savile.

The Top Of The Pops star invited her and a friend to stay with him at his London council flat. But in the middle of the night, the woman, now in her 60s, claims Jimmy climbed on top of her while she slept and started having sex with her. She woke up suddenly to find him attacking her.

Traumatised by that night in 1965, she hasn’t breathed a word of it since. She is not part of the TV documentary but has bravely agreed to speak for the first time about her terrible ordeal to the*Sunday Mirror. The woman, whose *identity we are protecting, said: “Even now I can still remember Jimmy lying on top of me. He *violated me in the worst way possible and I’ll *never forget it.

“I was so shocked because the rest of the weekend he had been so friendly and fun. We had gone to the Top Of The Pops studio.

In 1965 Top of the Pops was recorded in a converted church on Dickinson Road, Rusholme Manchester.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_in_Manchester

The first edition of Top of the Pops was broadcast on New Year's Day 1964 from the studio,[13] and Yorkshire host Jimmy Savile stated: "anything they didn't want to do in London, they slung up into this old church. And, of course, they didn't want anything to do with pop music so that was our place".[14] But when viewing figures took off the BBC decided that the pop show had to be broadcast from London, although it remained based in Manchester for three years before moving to Lime Grove Studios in west London in 1967.
Could it be that she got the year wrong? I really can't fathom making up such a story, who could lie about something like that? for the (potential) money? ugh.

I find that blog confusing - it seems to imply that its questioning the validity of the far fetched claims

Jimmy Savile’s actions go far beyond what you can even begin to believe: until you look at the evidence.
but by the end, it seems to be confident that there was alot more going on and it makes statements like this:-

He was also called upon to aid Sarah Ferguson.

“I was helping her not get publicity rather than get it – to cool things down….”

Does Jimmy Savile seem a likely person to you to call upon to help you lower your profile? No, me neither. So you have to question the reason for his calling upon.
I can't quite figure out which side of the fence the author is on it sounds like its casting doubt on the sensational/conspiratorial aspects and yet backing them up by the end?. Maybe im mixed up though... its murky stuff

I don't know - I'm probably more inclined to think things have been blown out of proportion, particularly the talk of satanic rituals. I guess we'll probably never know for sure(?).

How The Sun fixed it for Jimmy Savile in 2007.
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...t-for-Jim.html

The HMIC report says The Sun was approached by a woman with allegations about Jimmy Savile, but instead The Sun wrote...

The Sun joked about him being picked up outside a massage parlour and at the end the article there's this....
As he’s fond of saying, he has “60million friends” in Britain and judging by the short walk to the car, he’s not joking.

Yeah, right - while also being feared by every girls school in Britain(!).

He still watches telly — The Sopranos is a favourite — but says he’s disillusioned by the cynical way most of it is made and its liberal use of swearing.

A certain well known songwriter (of musicals)'s dad was guilty of this and actually died of rectal injuries from getting one of his students to...well, I think you can guess the rest.
Thanks for replying. I haven't worked out who you mean yet - but agree that abusers seem to work in such a textbook manner . We can only hope that the lessons being learnt now will protect future generations.

May be true of an arrest but who knows if the person is actually guilty of anything, whilst I am glad that action is slowly being taken over certain people I am also pleased that not everyone of them has full blown lurid media stories about it . I am happy to wait and see what unfolds before apportioning guilt ( not saying that you are stating any guilt)

Well, wasn't sure about the name but #paedobritain trended worldwide for a small time, and reached number 1 twice in UK, staying around 2-6, a lot at 3-4 until it slipped out of the top 10 after staying there for over 9 hours and for a few hours before and after locally. Masses of people ended up getting suspended, reaching post limits and just generally getting burned out after tweeting all day.

There was a massive professional spam attack in reponse to counter the tweets that went on all day as well.

The hope was to get #stopabusenow trending with it but that didn't do as well, needed to be released later at a certain time like it was supposedly going to be. Tom Watson commented on that one praising the campaign. Stephen Fry also apparently, i've seen the tweet but it couldn't have been him unless he deleted it very quick.
