Do they really have to do this? It's obvious that Blanket is his only biological child. Similar facial features aside, his name gives it away. Why would Michael name his last son Michael Joseph Jackson Jr and not his first, but give him a different family name? ( I also find it weird that all his children have the name Michael in their names. A bit like George Forman.) as far as his children are concerned, MJ is their father regardless of the true paternity.

Blanket looks hispanic to me and nothing like MJ prior to all the cosmetic surgery. I doubt if he is any more MJ's biological child than the other two.

? I never said it was a life threatening condition. Merely pointing out that he suffered from it. If it was something that affected him badly (not just physically but psychologically and emotionally), then it could have been a factor in that he didn't want a child of his to go through the same thing. And let's remember, he wasn't exactly living on planet earth for most of his adult life so judging him by 'normal' logic is pretty pointless.
I understand that he wouldn't have wanted to pass it on but a doctor would have told him what the percentage chances were.

I take your point about judging MJ by 'normal' standards but I still find it odd that he didn't select an African-American sperm donor.

He does look Hispanic, which could be down to his mother, but his top half is very similar to michael's when he was a child except for the nose.

All of his surgery seemed designed to make him look less African-American. If you consider that he found those features unattractive in himself - for whatever reason - that could be a possible explanation for his not wanting his children to look too African-American?

But vitiligo is more predominant in the black/hispanic race. If he fathered the children with a white woman their risk of contacting the skin condition would be much less.

How do I know this? because my children have an hispanic father who has vitiligo. It is a lot less irritating than other skin conditions like excema or psoirias (sp?) as it doesn't hurt

Agree. That's what I was getting at earlier re the vitiligo and the skin bleaching and the quite drastic surgery, that he was plainly desperately uncomfortable in his own skin.

If he had to adopt the children surely there were legal channels to go through. If the childrens mothers put MJ down as their father on their birth certificate...then he's their father by law. So I am assuming thats how it was done.

I cannot believe that three children turn up from nowhere and no questions are asked by the authorities. You cannot just adopt children like this - and with his background.
Being married to the the woman who gave birth to the first two children would have made things less complicated I'd guess; as the mother's husband she would have declared him as the legal father on birth certificates.

I don't what good it is to anyone, especially Michaels' children to have their paternity dragged up and questioned through the courts and the media.
It's bad enough they lost their father but to put them through this!!! Their just kids and should not have to be putting up with this. It must be really hurtfull for them.

Yes he does.

The whole article is a mixture of misinformation and lies. AEG in the court documents never made any such claims. It was just some sound bite from one of the filings mentioning paternity randomly brought up by the Jackson's lawyer.
It's pretty well known that a few of the Jackson's are very very bitter towards those children because they are the heirs to Michael's estate. So I wouldn't be a least bit surprised if these stories are coming from them just for spite.

there are rumours whether people believe them or not that michael was gay or at least bi-sexual.
I find it odd that if he was straight why he couldn't have found a woman to have kids with why use a sperm donar.
Yes maybe he couldn't have kids but a more likely reason could be his sexuality especially as a black man.
it would have been even harder to come out especially at the height of his career around thriller & bad era.
he loved those kids whoever the parents are blanket looks hispanic even latoya has said this.

Mark Lester (Godfather and mobile sperm bank) has spoken....

Michael Jackson's kids shouldn't be pushed into the spotlight, their godfather has warned.

British actor Mark Lester explained that he doesn't want the increasing media attention on Prince and Paris to turn them into "performing monkeys".

Oliver! actor Mark Lester spoke out after Jacko’s daughter Paris, 15, gave her first mag interview at the weekend.

And your point is....?
I think there are a number of points.

Among them is that Katherine Jackson seems more interested in money rather than the truth or justice.

As to the DNA and parents it was Michael Jackson who told a global TV audience Blanket was born out of a loving relationship with a woman who 'gifted' the child to Michael. Yet in the same programme MIchael contradicted himself by telling the world he never met Blanket's mother, thus setting off a timebomb for his children.

It was Michael's friends, among them Mark Lister who publicly announced they had donated sperm. It was Mark Lester who travelled to the USA with daughter in tow to demonstrate how she and Paris were similar in looks.

Last year it was Katherine who left the 3 children alone giving rise to Paris tweeting about her 'missing' grandmother.

There was also the phyisical altercation at the children's & Katherine's home involving Janet Jackson, which someone videoed and made available to the media.

All of which has been made public by the actions and words of various Jacksons and friends, not the result of the public prying into their affairs.

I know all this, however what I'm really asking is what does any issue of biological parentage have to do with the claim?

It's seems clear that some or none of the children may be biologically related to him and yes I remember Mark Lester claiming he might be Paris father.I asked myself at the time why did he do that?

I would certainly agree that the Jackson family appear to be a nest of vipers...from what we hear and read about them.On the other hand I've recently seen an interview with 3 Jackson brothers who spoke with genuine affection of their brother so really who knows.

Clearly when there is a huge amount of money like this at stake then there will be trouble.Just ask any family where a loved one with a bit of cash has died! It's just a real shame that after Michael went to such lengths to protect their privacy and keep their faces out of the news that all this is being played out so very publicly.

I understand that we are all ,myself included, curious. However it's not really anyone's business but theirs.Maybe they won't want to know-I know several adopted children who have no desire to seek out their birth parents.I would have thought if you were the result of a surrogate and a sperm donor there is even less chance of an emotional yearning.

I believe the whole lot of them, family, buisness associates, managers, doctors, promoters etc...probably have dirt on each other and its seems the norm among that lot to sling mud at each other.

Katherine Jackson made a number of claims against AEG but the judge has reduced is to just one. Maybe the claims about DNA was part of a defence to other claims or to show the picture presented by Katherine regarding her son may not have been accurate.

Iniatially AEG were eager to support & appease Katherine, either out of sympathy for a grieving mother or guilt. Now they've re-couped their costs and settled the insurance case they no longer feel they have a corporate responsibilty?

I felt sorry for Blanket who was to young to know or understand his father had on a global stage cast doubt the circumstances of his birth. Then we have Mark Lister very publicily casting doubt about Paris's parentage.

The children had Michael as their dad fine, but if they do wish to know the full story hopefully they will be given the truth rather than a Jackson style saga.

Good post. I feel sorry for MJs kids. He tried to keep their identities out of the media but of course that is virtually impossible these days. It must be odd for them believing him to be their father, not knowing their true parentage, and being surrounded by a family that now wish they didn't exist so that they can get their hands on the money.

I really hope that the Jacksons lose their case against AEG. They seem to think that Michael is not to blame for anything but he was the one who chose to take drugs and to lie to everyone about his health. He was surrounded by 'yes' men who did his bidding and his family seem to have forgotten this.

It's very possible that all three children are biologically MJ's. Prince supposedly has vitiligo and you only have to look at people like Rashida Jones to see how children from one black and one white parent can turn out.

Even if they are not, it's ridiculous that it is even a matter of discussion. He raised them all from birth so they are his children.

Well when you have an idiot like Arnie Klein doing things like this, is it any wonder it gets discussed.

You missed the point. I meant it's silly that people care enough about the subject to discuss it in the first place, regardless of whether they are biologically his or not.
